Question about Walls

Do the Wall Sappers do AOE damage to walls? is it worth it to have a double wall in this game or is it like Clash where that makes no sense? I feel like the limited number of walls that I have are not nearly enough to make the bases I want, what do you guys think? multiple sections the way to go?

not enough walls for double walls all the way around. chain as strong as weakest link if ur not double all the way around they just attack at single wall. sappers not aoe
