BHG, why can’t we pick which target the Space Age Silo missile targets? And why in the world does it pick resource targets?

also....War position lineup is still broken.

if we could choose, that would be like using a few demolition tactics for free

and i had an ally who was attacked by someone who used the silo attack on his refinery and left :D

I don't mind the random nature of it, but it should at least target defensive buildings. I've had it target a house before.

Part of the Big Red Button’s power allotment is in its randomness. The fact that it can’t just be used to cancel the defender’s Missile Silo and that its targets vary across attacks are important to its balance. That said, there’s still a good amount of skill in how you may decide to use the BRB. When we were designing the attack, it was very important that we signal where the strike is going to occur before you decide to spend the oil to use it. Providing you the information upfront allows you to make an informed decision of how your strategy will accommodate the random element of the BRB.

It did go through several rounds of testing where what it could strike changed. Resource buildings are certainly acceptable targets for it to select. Things like walls, gold piles, etc. are not. When it is selecting a target(s), it is a full random roll across all eligible targets. There is no special weighting granted to various buildings.

I did that earlier 😆 just to test out that button of course, hit the button cause it randomly targeted refinery. It was on a Korean player base, the alliance had pink unicorn badge. Hope it wasn't your friend 😊

They said it wouldn't target farms, but that was wrong and corrected fairly quickly in the same stream. Gold piles and walls were then announced as the only thing it wouldn't target.

I don't have this building yet so excuse my ignorance.
When does the signal show the intended target, when selecting your troops before going to battle? Or once the battle is joined and you select the strike from your troop bar?
If from the bar after the battle is joined, if you deselect the strike or choose another option on your troop bar THEN select the missile strike again, does the target change?

The flow is as follows:
Load opponent's base.
Visual scan, targets identified.
You then have a Big Red Button on your bar that you can activate to launch the missile(s) (you must start the battle and wait for a short CD before activating it).

So, you'll know ~2 seconds into the battle prep phase before you drop a troop where the missile(s) will strike. Target(s) never change once they've been identified.

It is poor form to target civilian population centers. Anyone who does should lose Glory!

Implemented in this way is kind of useless, most times it points to an insignificant building.

So another useless gimmick. Seriously, it's like playing lottery with these guys. They can't do anything right.

That's not true. It's definitely worthwhile. In wars every second counts especially when enemy defensive buildings are cranking out defenders in 1 sec flat.

If you have a hole created by taking out 2 farms/markets/mills and 1 defensive building that makes a huge payback being able to punch through quickly with a Heavy RPG army.

Also, you can get +2 targets by maxing out Sally Ride and +1 target for library research.
So that's 6 targets total. That's a significant amount of damage done to the base with one press of the BRB.

So I say ''Smash that BRB'' and watch 10% of their buildings melt hahaha.

BHG_Muet One suggestion would be to make the BRB minimally hit 1 defensive building guaranteed and the other reticles are random.
Even better would be if you were given a choice to select 1 of 3 randomized defensive buildings, select 1 of 3 randomized resource buildings, and the others are any random buildings on the map.

The selectable defensive buildings would never include stronghold, castle, or missile silo (i.e. highest value targets) but the random extra reticles could possibly select these targets.
