Simple things missing !

Hi

I've been playing the game for about 2 months now more or less, and there are some pretty simple things missing from the game which can be really annoying sometimes.

First thing that I think should be added, is a friend list ! Each player should be able to add some other players as his friends so he\she can stay in touch with them and track their progress. Now the game allows the players to choose whatever name they want and same names can be chosen since each player has a different ID. But what's the point if you can't look up a player by their ID ? I know the importance of each player having his own ID, but we should be able to look up other players (friends or foes) by their ID. I think you can only find your friends who are on Facebook, right ? Now I had this friend who started playing the game and in order to stay in touch in the game, I had to create an alliance just for the two of us. So I think a friend list is needed and you can send requests to other players and if they accept, he\she will be a part of your friend list and you can track his progress and visit his base whenever you want.

Another thing missing from the game is personal messaging. Players should be able to send messages to one another. Now again, this could be a friend or an enemy, or a player you're trying to recruit for your alliance. Of course, any abuse of the messaging system should result in banning the player. For example, use of bad words, advertising and so on.

Something else I think is missing, is a proper demonstration of players rankings. Now I don't have anything against the medal rankings, but each player should know his own ranking. Now when you go to the player rankings, you can only see the top players who are ranked based on their medal counts. I think the game should also provide a ranking based on the level of the players. This way, players who are not as keen on medal counts as others may be, can focus on leveling up and climbing the ranks in that category. So when a player opens the ranking page, he\she should see his own rank and for example the 10 people above and under him\her in that category (medals or experience). Same thing goes with the rankings in leagues. Let's put aside the fact that league bonuses don't really compel a player to increase his medal counts and join better leagues. Meeting the requirements for joining top alliances does though !! When a player opens the league page, he\she should first see his\her own ranking. Then if the player wishes to see the top player of the league (or the bottom), he\she can does so.

I also think that a stats page should be added to the game. A page in which, different stats of the game is presented. For example they could put a diagram of the percentage of each nation. Or for example a part where each player can see, since the day that he\she started playing, how has he\she been doing in comparison to players who started playing the game in the same day or after. The player could check to see who has progressed the most among the players who started playing the game in the same day (and after) as him\her or who has the highest medal counts among the same players. These may not seem important but it can mean a lot to competitive and active players. It also brings out the competitive spirit of players who are new to the game and instead of looking at the gap between the top players and themselves, they start comparing themselves to their peers.

I believe that introducing a weekly top 10 will have a huge impact on the game. I talked about bringing out the competitiveness of new and low level players. But how about the top and experienced players? I think a weekly top 10 page can really be fun and intriguing. The page consists of 4 top 10 categories. Top 10 attackers ( those with most killed defending soldiers and most number of destroyed defensive buildings). Each type of defending soldier should give the same amount of points as his troop space and each type of defending building should be given a fixed amount of points(of course the points for a level 3 tower should differ from a level 7 one). Then a top 10 defenders ( those who have killed the most attacking troops). The amount of points would be the same as the troop's space (1 for infantry or 6 for cavalry and so on..). Generals also should be given a fixed number a points for both killing them on defense or offense. Top 10 raiders ( those who have stolen the most loot collectively). Stolen trade goods should also count as points. At last, climbers top 10. Those who have added the most experience during the week. This top ten won't be for top players who have maxed out everything . Now there should be a bonus or reward for players who finish the week in the top 10 so that everybody will be tempted to get into the top 10 of any category and the rewards should be related to the category the player finishes in. For example ( and this is just of the top of my head), top 10 attackers get a 20% increased damage for their next 50 attacks. But these details can be changed of course. I think this top 10 system will motivate high ranked and experienced players to keep on playing and to be more active.

Let me know what you think.

Then obviously he wouldn't be allowed to take part. :)

I don't quite get what you mean. I also checked out his base but still. By those who have stolen the most loot, I mean during each week. For example we could set Tuesday as the reset day for top 10s, and those who have stolen the most loot from Tuesday to 00:00 next Tuesday, will be in the top 10 and then the reset happens and everybody starts from the scratch.

Maybe check out his forum posts instead - he's the only one raiding 6+hours a day at 5,6,7m gold per hour, hence my suggestion to keep him out :)

You missed the luxurious Level12 walls then, all built with looted gold.

Well, that's exactly the point Eddie. He's the one who puts more time than anybody else and why shouldn't he be rewarded ? Others can try to outplay him if they want to . He doesn't have anything special. He just perseveres and it pays off.

And no, I did not miss his level 12 walls !! :D
