Slavery was a vital aspect of ancient history. It is missing in the game. There should be prisons and camps for slaves and prisoners of war. Also, there are no bars, restaurants, nor are there whore houses. All these things are missing.

They will never touch these grounds. There is no denying that slavery (whoring as well) is part of nearly the whole human history. In fact, EVERY super power of the past and of today used this kind of forced labor to pave their way to greatness.

But history-accurate as it may be, this is very sensitive topic to be included on a mobile game intended for a wide audience. To avoid hatred, debates, lawsuits and other possible harms, the smartest move of the devs is to skip this boatride.

This is not a reason to skip this. They don't skip it in other forms of art, e.g. movies or literature. Why should it be skipped in a game in which it even wouldn't be a point of discussion, because it simply displays history without any personal comment. Political correctness is idiotic. Because a historic fact can never be politically incorrect. It's simply history, that's all.

And bars, restaurants and whore houses are missing too, because what kind of culture does work all day and never gets rest or amusement? The game needs to get more realistic instead of ignoring important aspects of human nature and culture. People aren't only economy robots.

This concept could maybe be included in a non-offensive way. We could take prisoners from enemy troops and have them show up as extra troops, like mercenaries, at the next battle ? Nah, that is still probably too offensive . this is making me think of nicey-nice ways to trat the prisoners, like sending them for healing, and then having them teach claases on tactics.

Vekumaso, Andy has been a proactive, positive, and encouraging contributor to this forum and the dominations community. His comment here is light hearted, sincere, and certainly not worthy of your response. You shut up you meathead.

Well, I wanted to see realism like this since Age of Empires, I would not be shocked to see the ugly face of slavery on a historical game at all, that should be a reminder of what horrible things we made on the past. But that's just ME and some other fellows. There is a LOT of politically correct people out there that would storm the internet and media with their metaphoric torches wanting the blood of the developers because their sons are using slaves on their games.

Human society as a whole is not ready yet for such cool headed approaches in "new" medias such as videogames. They dont bitch anymore about slavery and whoring in TV or cinema because they got used to it.

Imagine Call of Duty dealing with anti-semitism and the Holocaust in the way it truly happened. Imagine the portuguese civilization powers in age of Age of Empires III being "the european nation that can use more profitably the workforce of african slaves". Imagine The Sims dealing with depression and suicide.

In the current state of our social values nowdays, there is more harm than praise to be had here. There would be a lot of organization bashing the games if they go for it in some historical realism. For now it's a bold move, but also a recipe for a infinitude of lawsuits, and no game developer want this unneeded fuss.

I do think that there could be ways to improve the morale of your attack and defensive troops -- probably not "camp followers" and "whorehouses", but generic taverns, for instance.

I also like the idea of being able to capture enemy troops and draft them for your own use. Maybe they could supplement the mercenary armies.

In general, I think this game could use a lot more role-playing elements. It's great fun to conquer your neighbors, but there could be so much more!

I think that the mercenary camp already covers the army auxiliaries thing, but the concept can be expanded to be more on par with the real thing, were auxiliaries were draft from protectorates/client states to complement the main army.

As the boosting buildings, adding some generic ones is a reasonable idea. Taverns, Buda/Zeus statues, triumph arches and thinks alike, adding some eye candy to the city while boosting your troops on defenses/attacks.
