You don't need medals at your stage of the game - think about medals in about a year when you have a global age army (or Atomic by then).

The standard 'game play' of this appalling design is you accidentally climb up to 800-1000 then life gets tough so you drop medals back to ~300 using just raiders or a few troops, rinse & repeat for a year or so.

If you do persist in trying to get more medals you'll find each battle is only worth 1 medal (the Bag O'****e 1/39 medal system) and all your opponents are Industrial Age. Eventually you simply run out of opponents aka 'No Opponent Found' message, but you'll lose 20+ medals when you log off.

Welcome to 2016 and State of the Art AAA gaming.

In Medieval you should really be hovering around 300-400. Just use raiders, raiders & more raiders to gather resources for upgrades. Worry about medals if you want to climb the leagues - and you'll only really be ready for climbing after you reach EA. Except it won't be 'easy' until you reach IA - either way, a long way off .....

Keep medals low at a your age, and you can raid easier. In this game resources is more important than the honor you get by being on top of leagues. Until the system is fixed, you will just find it increasingly frustrating to try and climb higher. All the best!

I agree with all the previous comments, but if you ever get the 285 medals quest (another good reason to keep your medals low), you need to change your base layout. I love attacking bases like yours, with all the wall forming a perimeter. You need at least a two box design, preferably 4.

You say you are attacking a lot, so you know the base designs that give you trouble or that you hit next on. Copy one of those. And max out your walls. And spend all your loot before you log off; nobody attacks an empty base.

I sniped coc as a th3 in masters till subcell updated to kill sniping. Medals ain't nothing but junk period. Leagues giving bonuses? ㄴㅇㄴ I raid for way more than a league bonus could ever help out on. Get the medal achievement done and forget about it! Much more fun when your not stressed over not pancaking bases for loot and goods.

Only thing I see medal leagues for is to climb up and practice attacking hard bases, thats it. When your constantly watching troops train, your not raiding. When your not raiding there is no income for your base. When no income of loot and goods happens, well then the upgrading stops like a slinger hitting a redoubt.

I also agree with everyone else here. Don't worry about medals at such an early stage of the game. Keep your focus on looting and maxing out everything before you move up to the next age.

Start thinking about compartmentalizing your base. No base will be perfect and if someone is determined - they'll attack and 5 star you.

The medal aspect of the game in my opinion is discouraging. I honestly think that they should remove this from the game and find a better way of giving attack bonuses. It's not like those bonuses are really helpful. A few thousand here and there when things cost millions to upgrade.

You don't need medals. I think the better your league the harder your opponents, I'm on classical age and I think I have too many medals.
Your walls are too weak for a madieval age. Also, why protect everything? The only things you need to protect are your defences and resource buildings. I love attacking bases like yours; I can start at one side, steamroll through and win, without seperating my army.

From the start till now, I have never been bothered by medal.
Some may chase medals. I respect that but IMHO.... they are a serious waste of time.
My advise if you are dead set on climbing the medals. Simple..... Max out your defence and attack. And don't move to the next age.
When you are maxed at the low ages it is easy to climb the medal telly. But that in all honesty is just a superficial glory. You climb the medal telly without facing the big guns. That's why Nexon removed all the low age players from the medal leaderboard.
And when you do wish to go to the next age, you will have to drop again cause you will find that you will not be able to cope against the bases of the next higher age.

Without harping on the topic of medals, here is some advice regarding your base:

Using one of your Town Layouts START FROM SCRATCH & do the following:

1) Drop your TownCenter in the very middle
2) Build a Wall around it (& DEFINITELY, upgrade ALL of your walls to the maximum level allowed for your age!)
3) Surround Your TownCenter with a triangle of your 3 towers placed to protect your TownCtr
4) Put your 2 Catapults on opposite sides of your TownCenter (surround each of your catapults with walls)
5) Place Your Storehouse next to or inside the same walls as your TownCenter
6) Place your Barristas next to, to protect your catapults
7) Then building outward, place your garrisons & stables (should be placed to strategically trigger when your farms/market/mills are attacked), so place the markets/mills within the activation 'circle' of the garrison or stable and/or catapults
8) Items that should be OUTSIDE of ANY walls are: Wonders, Fruit Trees, Gold Mines, Farms, Houses, War Academy, Temple, Library, Blacksmith AND absolutely ALWAYS: Barracks & Mercenary Camp!
9) Place both your General Castle & Your Command Post where their invisible activation circle will trigger them to activate when an enemy attacks.

Since most people like to attack for just resources (assuming this is for a Town defense set up & NOT for a Warbase, because for War Bases resources are pointless & best used to slow attackers down to keep them from reaching your TownCtr), they generally target with their raiders, well, either your resources = "Farms" or your resource storage = "Markets or Mills" or "Storehouse"... (Jump down to below arrow •••>)

Since your Storehouse holds the hardest to acquire resources, keep your Storehouse next to your TownCenter, so it remains equally as well guarded.

Place walls & garrisons, stables, and any defense that fires a shot, in such a way that they protect your TownCenter from Capture/Destruction.

••••> Keeping your Farms, Mills & Markets AWAY from your TownCenter helps to remove your Towncenter as a target for those Enemy troops just interested in attacking you for your resources. One Option is to surround your Mills & Markets with their own Wall all around them, then add towers to guard, your castle & command post around them so that your general and command post troops trigger when the Enemy goes after/attacks your resouces. In later ages, continue along the theme splitting defenses between the two (Townctr & Storehouse AND THEN Mills/Markets) keeping your TownCenter & Storehouse away from your Mills/Markets...so attackers have to chose to go after one or the other...and your Farms away from all of them...OR later on, choose to place most of your defenses to protect EITHER your TownCenter & Storehouse OR Your Mills/Markets...and NOT BOTH...

Just some tips & options...and certainly only one way to look at a town's defenses... There are a million options & just as many opinions about which strategy is "BEST" to use when compared to the next and depending om what "Age" a player is in OR if a Player is designing your base for daily "Town" protection OR for World War War Base protection, which is a whole different tactic....

REGARDLESS, I hope the above Helps, or at least Gives You some ideas!!...

BEST OF LUCK!!

Imo depending on the wonder, that to me is the determining factor of if they should be inside or outside your walls. Example: angkor wat is useless after it goes poof! Same with the Colosseum;-]
