Nexon announced today that the studio’s DomiNations, from Big Huge Games, has brought in $100 million in lifetime revenue and has more than 32 million players since the mobile strategy game’s launch in April 2015. The publisher didn’t indicate how many of those folks are active players on iOS and Android, but this is still a success as more than 25 million of those people are in the West.
THAT WAS TAKEN FROM AN ARTICLE APRIL 2017. I read alot of negative opinions regarding declining player participation on this forum. Just wanted to maybe put things in perspective. Personally I was shocked by the high number. Perhaps Top 100 leader board for this game is just slightly underwhelming? Anyway hope this info helps discussion. Enjoy the game! 32m is the number of ppl who downloaded the game. Most of them never got passes medieval as they just downloaded the game to check it out.
real question is how many are passes lv150. And how many of those have quit the last weeks

My guess would be something like 1000-5000 active players above lvl 150.

Level is circumstantial, as you can be level 150 but be Industrial, Global or Atomic. Industrial is where the game really takes a jump, so the majority of places who give up will be before this point. There are hundreds of alliances with higher level players, so I recon there is far more than only a few thousand players at that level.

I would say there may be a million accounts that play this game once a week or more. I'm a 179 global and I've been attacked by the same guy repeatedly for the last month in the 1000-1500 medal range, so I don't think the numbers are very high above enlightenment.

I would wager a fair amount of active accounts are high level players with second or third accounts to combat the tedium of higher ages. The fact that I'm attacked once a week in medieval and gp ages tells me there are not many people sticking it out past the initial quick ages. Coupled with their seeming unwillingness or inability to fix various war issues, causing long timers and big spenders to leave the game, doesn't provide a positive outlook.

Im pretty new into IA so my defense isnt that great.

Ive only been attacked 12 times the past 2 days and only 1 defeat.

Only 26 attacks on me in the past week with a total of only 3 defeats. I am active enough that i remove my treaty almost immediately.

I thought id be smashed a lot by global age players and thats not the case.

There may be hundreds of thousands of players that are active but id wager a big chunk of those players are no higher than GP age. That means the health of the game is pretty bad. We see high level players talking about how they see the same player bases over and over again and are attacked by the same people multiple times. If the player base was as big as Nexon wants us to think, this shouldn't happen, or at least you shouldn't notice it(meaning if you attack a guy more than once, there should be so many attacks in between that you dont remember them)

DomiNations is currently 223 on the Google Play Stores Top Grossing Games. To me thats pretty damn low. I also find it pretty funny that several of the games they have in the Ads and that the "Offers" want you to test out and play are out performing this game in earning money.

Well i haven't given up hope. These things have happened to me a year before when Dominations was supposedly in its prime. It seems that nowadays any random fact/data/observation is being linked with how the game is going in a "supposedly" downward spiral.
For me it is game as usual. The constant whining in certain threads is more a source of negativity to me than the game itself.
They said they are working on some major fixes and would be out in a month or so (discussion in an other thread) . So looking forward to it.

That's the thing about RNG's, they're totally random. Not everything is as it seems.

Just like movies that make most of their money in the first few months, so it's probably the same with games. Most of Dominations money probably came in the first year. Then when new games come out people try that, then when another comes out people try that, and so on. Nothing new.
The diehards are enough to keep the money coming in. The ones who can't be bothered sticking it out, the game can do without them.

Don't forget the time to upgrade to a new age is fairly average, no matter who's playing. Chances are, by the time you move up, a few thousand people have moved up with you. It's not unreasonable to expect to see the same bases over time.
Not all higher level bases have the same medal count as you. Give it time, you'll be attacked in due time.

And yet CoC, Game of War, etc are still on top of this list and have been for years. A very good mobile game is going to stick around at the top of that list.
