Splash damage for heavy tanks

Does anyone know if the library research to add splash damage to heavy tanks works for defense as well, when they come out of bunker? Or is it just for attack?

It's not working on defense

I believe splash damage from heavy tanks only works on defense when it has been donated to another alliance member and spawns from their TC.

It works on attack as well, my heavy tanks despatch defenders with ease now that l have it.
