very good points made so far in this thread.

i will add that at the highest level of competition wars are won or lost by a margin of just a few stars. attacking in this game used to be much more volatile and required more skill. if you made a mistake you likely were not going to get 5 stars. i think that is a good thing. add in cards and those small margins evaporate; mistakes don't matter.

i don't often use event cards in war but have before. i currently have (56) cards in my tray with a total supply value of 1,603 (not including planes). i have an additional (121) cards in my inventory. this is absolutely absurd and basically guarantees that i can 5* any base in the game.

a good solution would seem to be to limit the number of cards that can be used in each war battle to 1.

a few more solutions that i think could work:
introduce defensive-based cards/gifts
make a war search option to select whether you want use cards in war

Agree with everyone above. I don't mind defending against 500 enemy troops in multiplayer, but I'd prefer for my defense to have a fighting chance in World War. Otherwise, why waste all the time/crowns upgrading endless defense buildings? Why bother coming up with new war base designs?

Though i never had much of an issue with stalemate i can see the issue with what everyone is talking about. I wonder if an "event troop slot" would help at all?? Kind of like merc camp troop where you can only bring so many to battle, you could have an event troop slot where you are only allowed to bring 1 or maybe 2 event troops with you to battle. You can still have all the other troops they would just sit in inventory until you claim them... I do like trying out the new troops, something to look forward to when you reach that level but having the ability to drop all event troops on a war base is just a "little" excessive!

I can't fathom why NEXON would continue selling, and giving away extra troops (event troops, present troops) after a large part of the community has cried foul. It is to the point where every war is a stalemate. Many players have quit the game as upgraded defences are irrelevant compared to the massive barrage of extra troops. Takes up to 14 days and up to 10 workers to upgrade 1 defence building. Takes 5secs and as little as 0$ to drop a large amount of extra troops in war. I have never purchased an extra troop, my inventory is stocked and my troop tray is so full I have to use extra troops just to open up slots for my Tactics. NEXON please address this issue so we can enjoy your app and world wars again.

Stalemates were neglected at the start so what did Nexon do to improve this? They added troop cards for purchase and events (so easy to achieve, almost like on purpose) that give u more. Anyone would deep pockets can buy a thousand armies with the (present) present workshop or airlift depot from before.

And another bad decision (I think a lot of ppl forgot about) was adding 15 sec. to the quick victory timer. Idk who makes these decisions, but pls stop! Actually visit YOUR FORUM once in awhile and read the feedback from your player base! Ignoring problems will only hurt EVERY ONE in the end.

I don't write threads on this forum as i don't master english langage so well, but almost everyday i come and read a lot of thread.

I notice one thing, very sad thing, even if a lot of players in this forum have really good ideas...

IT ALWAYS SEEMS THAT WE ARE TALKING TO A WALL... 😳😢😠

Its becoming ridiculous... No war is a "war" anymore.
Just in this thread over 10-15 alliances (alliance groups) with hundreds of olayers in it expressed their unanimous opinion on it. So wtf else we need to do ?
Im optimist and not a rude guy usually... But Im seriously pissed off by what is going on from start of november/december

I wholeheartedly agree... Extra troops are ruining this game.... but it's not the only thing... So is Sandbagging. And so are Stalemates. So is the leaderboard as it is currently set up. It's all interconnected in some kind of chain of events.

It all started nearly a year ago when they highlighted a sandbagging team on their FB spotlight which got other weak alliances to start sandbagging too to get easy war wins. Then when Nexon released the dysfunctional leaderboard, it caused these unscrupulous teams to go up in rank while high skilled teams stagnated with stalemates and long search times. Which caused them to start sandbagging too. Which caused lower/mid level players to start buying these extra troops and playing these events to be on a level playing field with the sandbagging teams they ran into. Before fixing the sandbagging they released Atomic Age so that higher level players would also need to use these extra troop cards to take down more difficult defenses of the high level big spenders speeding to the top of Atomic. Which caused Nexon to make more troop cards available in many different ways earning them lots and lots of $$$$. They found the formula that will get the most people (at all levels) to fork over money or spend countless hours jumping through their hoops to get workshops, coalitions, etc,

While I'm not sure it was all purposely planned on their part, Nexon has found themselves holding the Golden ticket. These extra troop cards are a cash cow for Nexon. There is nothing we can SAY to get them to stop but there is something we can DO ... simply stop buying extra troop cards. Stop playing the events that give you extra troop cards. Stop using troop cards in war. Spend (or don't spend) your money on crowns to help progress your game like you did before. And start learning how to 5 star bases without extra cards. It's that simple. If we do this maybe they will stop selling those blasted things. Think supply and demand. Oh yeah and to beat a mummified horse... while you're at it... If you are sandbagging stop doing that too.

Here's an idea for you Nexon/BHG. How about you send some surveys to our in-game inboxes? I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult. Whether it's a series of questions with 1-5 on a scale of importance, or simple yes/no is up to the coders.

Or give the option of filling out a more detailed questionnaire. I'm sure most of us here would fill it out for free, but perhaps offer some small amount of crowns to entice the more casual players, to get a broader range of opinions?

We're probably among the most dedicated and certainly the most vocal of players, but we may very well be in the minority on this.

Organizing the troop bar to be more user-friendly should be a no-brainer though. Just throwing that out there.

Speaking for my entire alliance, extra troops and stalemates are ruining the fun of wars, or at least try to give defensive boosts, like defensive blessings useable in wars. Perfect scores should not be that easy. Extra troops takes any skill out of the 5 stars goal.

Gail put it perfectly. Sandbagging, Stalemates and unlimited card troops have completely ruined war. I know you want to make $$$, and that is ok, but you used to have the pop-up card army sales all the time and it was ok because they were somewhat limited. Now, it is a complete free for all. I cannot believe someone is making the decision to allow this for your game. It is such short sighted thinking it makes me sad.

When most of people are buying these card troops why Nexon should stop selling and making money? I guess next Nexon move is selling the temporary unique defense buildings and ability of using the card units in defense! It will be more profitable for them and the balance issue of offense and defense will be resolved… and the game will be a real pay to win one.

Hey Eagle. I honestly dont think the purchased troops cause too much problems as long as they are somewhat limited. Im not a big spender (aside from starter pack 1&2, estate) Ive only bought crowns on their own once, so Im an infrequent spender considering Im almost at 2 years playing. I am ok with those pop up sales that offer 2 troop cards for $10 or whatever every couple of days if people really want to buy them. It helps the game for Nexon to make money. But, I think a bigger problem is the events and bonuses that give 1) free troops to everyone, and 2) in HUGE quantities 3) happening with alarming frequency. We have had troop cards in the game for a very long time, they used to be like 2 in an event every other week or so, and then the purchased ones. It felt reasonable. Now we have events like supply drop last month that gave everyone 10+, then the present/xmas factory event that is giving probably tons more for the life of the event, coupled with the alliance gift running for sooo long where entire alliances get many troop cards many different times (Ive gotten more this way than any other way, maybe reduce the chance of it Nexon?).

Ive never bought a troop card from the pop up sales, ever, and I am so loaded with troops right now. I have dozens without spending a penny on them. I think this is maybe a bigger problem than them offering some to purchase. They are ubiquitous and no longer rare/special.

In one way its kind of funny because we have probably gotten a few stalemates against sandbagging teams that should never be matched with us because of troop cards. So, its a ha-ha moment where we can laugh at them. But to be honest for the sake of the game, along with Sandbagging and the other reasons causing stalemates, this troop card issue is right up there and must be stopped, otherwise the game will continue its precipitous decline. Im sure nexon is looking at some metric somewhere saying its not a big deal, but if that metric exists it is certainly wrong when considering a more long term outlook. This is an awful experience and I hope its fixed.

I agree that those troop cards are getting too much, but I doubt Nexon/BGH would be willing to stop them.

Those troop cards itself is not the real problem, the real problem is the way they are being integrated into the game.

It is ridiculous that a single troop card can contain over 30 troop space worth of troops and yet there is no limit on the number troop cards allowed to be used in a single battle. It acts like a legitimate backdoor to have virtually infinity troop space.

I suggest:
1.All those troop cards should go straight to the Inventory upon claiming them, regardless of how the player acquired them.
2.The card troops should be broken down into smaller armies(or even smaller, like one card contains only a unit of the troop), so that each card contains a reasonable number of troops, like the Mercenary troops.
3.There should be a limit on the number of troop cards allowed in each battle, it could be implemented
a. in a way similar to the Mercenary troops; or
b. be counted as part of the Barracks/Factory troop space(or air troop space if it's an air unit); or
c. as a new class of troop with its own troop space count.

Also hope they fix the troop clutter on the screen, it makes war attacks way harder than they should be.
I have to scroll past way too many units to get to my tactics.

Totally agree Jakob! The whole game is off balance with the introduction of these troop cards - whether purchased, received as a gift or won in an event.
There's no point in working on defense, it's becoming a silly game for troop spamming. Who's army is bigger than who's? And yes some can argue about wallet sizes, but I don't buy extra troops and I have enough collected from various events to keep me going for 2017...
Some brag about taking down a huge base using their extra troops...that's just sad and shows that the skill aspect of this game is no longer needed...the game is fast becoming a glorified chat room with some funky interactive background...

The more I read about this stronghold the more I worry with what others have said ... there will be an expectation for everyone to start spending money and it is simply become a game about who can spend the most money to take the best troops into war. Then it will come down to belonging to an alliance who spends more money than any other alliance. Not the kind of game I want to play anymore....
