Does the stronghold deploy troops with the timer bar when enemies are within range or does it work upon being destroyed?

First one comes out instantly when enemies are in range, the rest have a timer bar.

I asked that question earlier and the answer I got was that they all come out instantly, not in waves like I believed it to be...can someone confirm?

Also, I understand it can be sabotaged, but does the blitzkrieg have an effect on the Stronghold?
