The game won't load after recent update!

I haven't had this problem so far, but my son is unable to log in the game as it says: "Good news! A new version of the game is avalaible.", but when he press "Update", it takes him to AppStore with just "Open" option to choose from - and after pressing it, he sees again: "Good news! A new version of the game is available." ... It's not good news at all! What can he do? He doesn't remember his details so he doesn't want to re-install the game, he's really scared he may lose the access to his account forever. What is going on?!

I've had that many times on Android and it's annoying, there is a delay before the game is available on the play store, so I cannot play because the game sends me to the store every time I start it but there is no update.

I am having the exact same problem. I have tried to exit the program and come back in, but to no avail. I am on an iPad 2.
