Hey guys,

Since I moved to the gunpowder age, I find it difficult to find people with a good amount of ressources (more than 100k). When I was in the classical and medieval age these kind of bases were common but now what I found the most are bases with 20k gold and 20k food.

I tried to drop my medal count to 400 then went upward to 1200 but it's the same thing, the number of bases with more than 50k each is ultra rare and those rare bases are often ones from lvl90+ players.

If I play for one hour, I can't really collect as much as I was collecting before. Looks like I'm missing something.

Which medal league are you at in order to find bases with enough ressources ?
What do you consider a good base to attack ? (How many available ressources to loot?)
How many ressources do you collect per hour of game ?

Please share your looting strategy and use this thread to post your looting problems and suggestions.

I think the game is flawed when it relies on players intentionally losing battles to drop vp so they can raid better.
It results in mindless grinding and yo-yo-ing of vps for 1hr+ just to accumulate resources.
Is there a better way?

To answer your question, I'm just in classical so 20k food 20k gold is a good haul.
I'll snack on iron age people with less loot since there's no losses, but it's just a boring grindfest after a while.

Yeah i agree with above^ im at medieval i try to go for 50k or 60k average so i can gain at a steady paste. But i think as you get higher on the ages people with shitty defenses tend to just waste all their loot so no one will have a motivate to attack them. Let alone bases with good defenses.

I have had a lot of luck staying low medals and using infantry to snipe farms and bases that put storage's up for grabs (like the people who phone in giving candy on Halloween by leaving out a bowl and a note)

Of course a lot of these guys are zombie bases which is sad but they are doing their part to drive the economy I guess.

yep, I've been doing that too when I want to drop vps,
That's my point - what fun is there in a game when you have to do that just to accumulate for a big upgrade?
The farm economy is so slow one resorts to these grinding sessions.
The game is quickly losing its allure.

I think the point of the OP was that the yoyo method isn't working anymore. I need 3 million for most upgrades now, and regardless of what my medal count is at, it's rare to find an opponent with anything worth raiding.

Classical Age here... Try to keep my medal count around 350-450. After some fishing can usually find 40-50k in both resources. Usually get lucky and find that base with 75-100k in it. Noticing the lower my medal count the easier the resource farming is.

Stay between 800-1000 at gunpowder, and hit next a lot until u find a good base. I avg 70k of each usually and about 5-10min train time after each raid

I had to grind for 1hr just to get 400k gold, roaming between 200-400 medals.
When all was done, had to spend another 15mins sacrificing 1 troop surrendering continuously to drop down medals to safeguard my food.
This game is getting to be silly.

Now if you say yo-yoing isn't going to work anymore if you need 3mil gold, then what's the point of playing this game?
The economy is so bad, production is slow, you can't defend squat so you cannot accumulate.
So we have to spend 4hrs on every raiding session now?
Ridiculous.

I agree with you they should really get that fixed. You literally have to raid min of an 1 hr once you get higher in the ages.
