The writing on the wall

I played COC for a long time. Eventually abandoned it because of long upgrades. Then tried a samurai type one, can't remember the name, same result. Then AOE Castle Siege, same result.

The fact that one don't necessarily loose all your troops if played wisely, was the deciding factor in starting this game. I unfortunately lost sight of the reasons why I quit the other games.

That being said, I see that I've got 1 day left before EA. The three plus days upgrades however took it's toll. Just have a feeling that longer upgrades might just be the final nail in the coffin, again.

I fully get the financial decisions from the developers side, but sadly I can see the writing on the wall.

What I need is a similar type game, which I pay for in full. No in-app purchases. No long upgrade times. Make the first age free to play, and if I like it enough to upgrade to the next age, I'll pay $ upfront with a smile.

I really miss the good old AOE days. So sad they could not maintain the online version. Time to fire up Diablo again :)

I don't need no cheaters around me
And I dont need no crowns to calm me.
I have seen the writing on the wall.
Don't think I need anything at all.
No! Don't think I'll need anything at all.
All in all it was all just bricks in the wall.
All in all you were all just bricks in the wall.

So yea it's too much but i actually don't mind the build time, i think it plays a part in this game. I have seen the writing on the wall while wandering around cheaters and hackers and bugs and bad AI and bad matchmaking and medal system.

It's not gonna happen. They could not maintain Civs online version, caz it wasn't profitable. One thing is supporting the game, another is getting new players in, who are also needed to support fun. All Costs big huge $$$.

This game has two common advantages vs competitors:

- returning armies at the beginning, becomes a myth in later ages
- 'connected' gameplay via free training blessing (costs $ in clash of clans)

Build times become kinda too long and prices are ridiculous, but other games have that too.

The stuff in EA is like TH9 in CoC. The duration and cost in IA is worst than TH10 in CoC (except for Coc's max x-bows and Infernoes).

If you quit AoE:CS because of long upgrades you'll be surprised you will find the same thing here. At max level here, a barracks can take 8 days, regular troop upgrades a week, and returning troops will only happen by attacking weaker players(mostly), but I left AoE:CS because you are forced to play hours on end with a boring tactic or try to stay online if you want to progress decently(Though the same will apply at the later ages here, but it goes faster). Also, congradulations on enlightment age, and go for training blessing.

Thanks, Temple, barracks and blacksmith will receive priority :)

I'll probably hang in here for a while, will see.
