I spent 500 rubies on Loot Blessings, and some more on NTG's. Otherwise they simply go to waste as the Alliance Gate overflows. This is better than nothing but still pretty rubbish.

Well this isn't the Asia forum. If you don't specify that in the original post how was anyone to know.
That's certainly a shame that you don't have chests but I believe it's due to China's gambling laws, I can only assume all Asian countries are affected by that.

The chests should be available to every player or no player. Anything else serves to unbalance the game and favour one set of players over another.

Nope, you are very probably not on the Asia server. The Asia version(officially known as DomiNations Asia) is only offered to those who download the game in East Asia(including Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan). If the game is downloaded in other parts of Asia or the rest of the world(excluding the mainland China), the international version(officially known as DomiNations) would be offered.
