Currently I'm playing with the Japanese.
My tactic is basically riders.
So I think Romans will be the best choice.
What's your opinion?

How do you usually play? Longer sessions? And what's the goal? Does best for you mean most effective or?

Playing about 1 hour a day, need to loot fast..so use riders...I don't want to loose my army every raid so the only advantage I see is Romans with 10% more army.

You'll lose them anyway at any age past GP.

basically what tipek said.

Some mixed armies work with skill, so Romans would be best for that edge, but if you're farming French after EA is best. It's ultimately a raider and wall breaker grind if you want to get the medals/resources you need to advance

Anything that is better for quick offense is the way to go. Certainly French is one option, but Korea and Britain are good options as well. Speaking from personal experience, I play casually with the British (usually no more than 30-50mins a night) and have managed to progress quite well. However, I recently changed from Japanese to Germans (2nd account) in late GA because I still wanted to play casually but they seemed to offer more offensive options - and I wish I'ld done this sooner.

Not only does the foot soldier have high DPS - which means both potent & inexpensive army - but other units get a DPS bonus after a win. However, for me the biggest plus - and this has injected new enthusiasm into my gameplay - is that with quicker rallies you have better control of the battle. You have more options to rally on a building or pull your troops away from danger or get them across a map quicker. As a result I've noticed that I'm 4 & 5-starring in quicker times - often with a minute or more to spare - and if increasing the number of battles per hour is your goal I recommend you consider ze Germans.

Now, I'm not intending to sway you away from any other nation - I'm just giving you some insight into what I've discovered since changing. Doubtless other people have different experiences and some may have the same. The choice is yours. I did plenty of research before making my decision - including reading the opinions of experts on this forum, of which I'm not - and I don't regret it. You make your own decision but hopefully my two cents gives you some food for thought.

This might make you laugh - this is something from Wiki about the Germans. ''This nation lacks any additional economic or defensive bonuses. The Germans share the traits of the Greeks as one of the worst nations in the game''.

I wouldn't believe everything you see on the web because, as Abraham Lincoln said, ''70% of everything you see on the internet is probably untrue''.

Smart man that Abraham.

What Internet speed did Abraham Lincoln had in 1860 :)?

IMO
Koreans better than Chinese
French better than Greeks
Germans better than Japanese
The other two ,Romans & British are good on their own.

So basically u should avoid opting for Chinese, Greeks & Japanese. Select out of the other 5 Nations as per your Gameplay style ;)

I moved from Greeks to Germans, since I wanted an offensive Nation with more control on my Troops in Battle with Rally Bonus with Germans . I am now playing very well with Germans @ 1600 medals ;-)

The raider nerf happened. It's not necessary to slow that strategy down farther. It's time to buff some troops to make the game more fun.

1. Fusiliers need their range back and more health and/or improved ai
2. HC/Tanks need more dps, and a multiplier vs. walls
3. Cannons could use a buff vs. walls as well, so that if they're trapped in a chamber, they can blast a wall and move on
4. HT should cost less oil, or the oil league bonuses need to be greater
5. Wall miners need to be more effective (maybe their own rally?)

What's your level, John?

Each of the nations has its benefits:

1. Chinese extra worker is a significant benefit. They also have a strong ranged infantry unit.
2. Greeks have a tank with extra dps, which is a significant benefit. (Their architectural bonus should be buffed, imo. But I believe it will be and wouldn't push people to change nations before global age is released.)
3. Japanese have a strong infantry unit and a treaty boost that would be quite useful for people who can't play as much.

So, I'm not in agreement on your rankings, since each player has unique needs. I'm tempted to switch to Greek, partly because people complain about them being underpowered.

Just joined the Kingdom league. Personally I like an Attacking Nations,so I wanted more control in battles on my Troops,so I moved to Germans. I was totally frustrated with AI after 2.5 update & wanted to move away from Germans. But now I have settled down with the Gameplay style of Germans.

Aurelius consider moving to Greeks after Nations balance update.

The fact the Greeks have a decent boost to tanks is one of the reasons I'm sticking with them for now, as mixed armies will probably be the way forward. I was tempted to switch to the Japanese due to wanting longer peace treaties to get away from the game more but haven't made the change yet. A PT that's at least 11 hours sounds nice to me, which includes the IA library research. Overall, I would say the French nation offers the best perks with faster troop train time and buffed HC but everyone has a preferred way to play.

I'm actually starting to wonder if there are less diamonds available on quick TC wins to encourage players to start using mixed armies.
