Update 4.0 - world war matchmaking

Something has happened to the matchmaking after the update. Last wars we have had some seriously unbalanced matches, like the current one.
Our opponents have:
Global: 1, Industrial 24 and Enlightment 5

We have:
Global 1, Industrial 11, Enlightment 14, Gunpowder 4

We like tough matches - but this is ridiculous - last war was the same.
Our Gunpowder and low level EA guys are starting to loose interest in wars..

Age is not how they match you. It's the combined score of offensive and defensive units/structures. Likely you have a few low age max bases whereas the other side has a few early higher ages. Move to next age as soon as you max your attack power. Game is designed to favor that.

You know what, Nexon is trying to kill off their own game by all means. All the cheats, all the bugs, all the glitches, being scouted for hours, disconnected from server, and now this insane war match up. We have had tough opponents as can happen but today's match up is total BS.
We have - 2 global age, 10 IA, 7 EA and 1 Gp age. Our Korean opponents are - 3 global age and 17 IA, most of them maxed offense and defense. Their bottom guy is 90% IA maxed offense against our 50% maxed Gp age guy.
Now, how do you explain that? Either these guys are cheating or Nexon war match up is totally flawed.

The same issue for us too. The opponent has 2 global age, 5 IA, 11 EA, 7 GP. We have 1 Global age, 5 IA, 6 EA, 9 GP, 4 medieval. No matter how I look at it, the combined scores of offensive/defensive couldn't match theirs. How do u expect our medieval bases to fight against their GP/EA? It just turns them off from signing up wars with us in future, and a diminished interest in game. Worse still, the bug persist where members get 5 stars but it showed lesser stars, screenshots taken.

However, we still won 109-70 by teamwork. Hope Nexon can fix these problems soon.

I checked the level of our opponent in the previous mentioned war, and average level difference was 15, that is a lot - of course part of this is roads and economic buildings... But still.. We lost the war, but it was close - so we are happy with our performance :)

Now we are in a new war, and this time the imbalance is even worse.. but in our favor. Our poor opponents this time is being completely crushed.... Both alliances have done half their attacks and we are leading 116 - 44... Cant be much fun to be on the receiving end...

Sadly for us, there was no way we can win against maxed global players so we lost the war. And most of our top guys including our alliance leaders are really disheartened and decided to postpone war matches until the issue is fixed. Few of them might even quit the game for good.

Guys I dont intend this to troll anyone so please dont take it that way. But comparisons of age and level are almost completely useless in looking at war matchmaking. I constantly see our GP guys wipe out rushed IA bases in war, and vice versa when we've had rushed IA folks they have struggled even on easier GP bases. Same with levels, the #1 thing that influences player level, of all things, is roads. Ive been like 8th place on my team in level for ages, while #1 in war ranking, because I hadnt gotten around to upgrading roads.

The comparisons being made in this thread are not ones that really tell us anything. Its all about total defensive upgrades + total offensive upgrades....age impacts the ceiling to this but nothing else, and level measures it to a small extent but the biggest influences are probably economic upgrades.

For what its worth, I'd say maybe 1 in 5 wars we are in are mismatched one way or the other, something I can for sure live with considering all of the other problems in the game. The hard wars are the ones we learn from, and the easy ones happen very rarely but are nice when they do lol.
