Dominations - Progression and Resource Update

As DomiNations has continued to grow over the years, so has the amount of time and dedication it takes to progress to the heart of the game. With this in mind, we are continuously looking for ways to improve the experience for both new and longstanding players alike.
With DomiNations Update 12.1, we're implementing a series of changes aimed at helping players progress faster and more efficiently, at all stages of the game.

As a new player, it doesn't take very long to start running into timers that halt progression. We'd like to make it easier for new players to get even further into the game before experiencing the weight of longer build times. A lot of fun content unlocks early on, and this should allow new players to sink their teeth into more as they are just starting out.

For established, experienced players, it becomes quite easy to run out of ways to interact with your base as Citizens can sometimes be tied up on upgrades for weeks at a time. In addition to timer reductions, we’ve also reduced the Citizen requirements across some of your daily interactions. With those aspects combined, we aim to ensure players can have more frequent opportunities to manage and advance their town.





Time Reductions:
  • Build Time Reduction- (includes ALL Buildings except Wonders)
    • Dawn Age to Gunpowder Age 95% Reduction
    • Enlightenment Age 90% Reduction
    • Industrial Age 80% Reduction
    • Global Age 35% Reduction
    • Atomic Age to Digital Age 20% Reduction
    • Information Age to Drone Age 10% Reduction
  • Research Time Reduction- (includes ONLY Troops, Tactics, Aircraft, and Factory. Generals and Coalitions will remain the same.)
    • Dawn Age to Iron Age 75% Reduction
    • Classical Age and Medieval Age 60% Reduction
    • Gunpowder Age and Enlightenment 50% Reduction
    • Industrial Age 35% Reduction
    • Global Age 25% Reduction
    • Atomic Age 10% Reduction

Citizen Requirement Reductions:
  • Forest Clearing - 2 Citizens
  • Hunt ANY Animal - 1 Citizen
  • Fruit Trees and Gold Mines - 1 Citizen
  • ALL Expeditions - 1 Citizen
    • Stacks with Library Research will reduce Citizen requirement to 0 if ‘Shipping’ Level 5 is researched
  • Wonder Construction - 4 Citizens
  • Castle Upgrades - 4 Citizens
  • Town Hall Upgrades - 4 Citizens


Increased Resource Shipments
A series of new Resource Shipment chest will become available. You’ll find these chests as apart of Quest Event rewards, Marco Polo exchanges, and more. These Resource Shipment chests will offer a guaranteed total between their small, medium, and large versions that you can grab to fill resources at a cheaper rate!



These changes will take place as soon as we release the 12.1 Update shortly! With these changes, we hope to see many DomiNations players reaching their goals faster, and encouraging more advanced players to be able to find their place competitively in World Wars. As of 12/4/23 3:46 PM EST a fix went out to cover the following:

  • Fixed the issue where one Gold Mine still required 2 Villagers
  • Swapping a Wonder requires only 4 Villagers

Here's a hint: want to make it easier for players - get rid of the outdated concept of longer build times. A max build time of 8-10 days and us advanced players will be very happy.

Having said that, always happy to receive good news like this. (even if Dawn to Industrial is overkill)
 
does the research times include university... the way you worded that now is hard to get. i understood the coalitons and generals stay the same but what does it mean by "includes only".
this should be directed at university too.

if you want make the archive produce a speedup chest or manual chest once a day to configure it... you did make upgrading it pointless

lastly could you make the farm/ caravan stay at 2 citizens.

There needs to be resources available in the store so we can get artifacts up to speed theres benefactors & researchers available to buy with relics
 
Thanks for thinking so much about new players, I have recruited hundreds of new players for dominations in China, I want Chinese players to play such a good game, I think a game planner can think so much for players, he is not only to make money, more is to let everyone enjoy playing games faster, I believe the future will be better!

Nice overall update. I think I might consider an alt (no way!). Drone+ age players who upgraded their docks will be very unhappy. With free dock prizes, there will be no need for supplies and other museum stuff considering you can have expeditions 24/7 with no restrictions. Also, it's not that bad to upgrade more Generals for extra things. Lots of free TTs will be excellent and we can have many many wall breaker and air strike TTs. The castle will change from 7-citizen defense upgrade to 3-citizen upgrade (most to least number of citizens ;) ).
 
I also suggest giving info+ players like 100 days of speedups to compensate!
or for events they couple a time discount with the cost discount so of theres an event that cut tower costs by 20% it also gives a 20% cur in time for that building
 
Forest Clearing - 2 Citizens, shouldn't they added like with expeditions stacks with research Wu Zetian on Forest Clearing - 1 citizen?
 
Nice move with time reduction but not for all players .
This seams like punishment for long time players and who already spend money on crowns for faster past upgrades especially for players in automated age. And of course we know we will not get compesation from you for playing 6,7,8 years and building bases with already 20 days for one upgrade and spending on that time .


But you can do this.
Cut all upgrade times for 50% in all ages and than add this what you are adding in 12.1 upgrade. That will be correct move .
 
This is massive! I'm loving this update so much! Great things all around! I'm losing my mind over the Citizen requirement to 0 for Expeditions. Amazing!

However, the time reduction for troop upgrades stops at atomic age units with just 10% less time? So... Cold war and up get the short end of the stick? Man, that's rough...

Well hate to be one to point fact old players are having money speeds up and time we spent devalued and you handing new players stuff we paid full price for half off or more. This not cool and players the spent should be compensated in some way. You can paint the rose picture of big player bases etc but it don’t cover up fact you charging new player half as much as us. Sorry but I feel ripped off
I know BHG won’t compensate the old timers who supported them from beginning we mean nothing apparently.
