Upgrading during wars,

General Ignoramus here again, if you upgrade say a barracks or tower, will they still be active during War?

Structures that are upgrading after War has started are active in War at the level post upgrade. To see what your base looks like and what general is defending. Click on War map. Select an ally who is one above or below your rank. Click next to see what your base looks like in War.

defending buildings are active (tower), attacking buildings are not (barracks). That's why it's a good idea to pause world war if you have one of the following buildings in upgrade:

- war academy (no tactics in WW is ugly)
- mercenary camp
- air base

All defensive buildings are active for war during upgrades, but the offensive buildings like barracks, merc, factory, war academy are not. As yellowmar mentioned, to view your war base from another person's perspective, just look at your ally's base next to you, and then go view your base from inside scouting view.
