Weekend Sales Pre-Announcement

Do weekend sales usually get announced a day in advance or only after the sale actually begins? If the latter is the case, I think it would be a good change to release what is going to be on sale on the Thursday a day or two in advance. Kind of like the pre-event two day timer to get prepped. Often times I find myself not knowing whether to be saving my oil, food or gold for the sale and sometimes I end up saving it for no reason which wastes valuable time. I'd rather spend all my oil today if there will not be an oil building on sale tomorrow so that it will not get raided in the one day's wait.

I used crowns(which i typcially dont like to do on research) so i could start Nationalism chapter 4(save 30k oil) and then be able to do chapter 5 command and save nearly 60k.

I am only getting Nationalism chapter 5 done at this point since I don't buy crowns. Out of curiosity, how many crowns did it take to do National chapter 4? Did you use the crowns to buy the oil for the research or to finish it instantly?
