Let's talk about the Map Editor! What features would you like to see added? What about it frustrates you?

Please keep replies on topic and polite!

We were discussing it recently, so the first thing would be 'saves' of a couple of different layouts you may easily switch.

It would be also cool to save unfinished layouts, they are kinda too big now to build from 1 try. I have to do like 5-7 rebuilds to get a new one.

Walls/roads may need just a 'select all' button. May be you'd need a zone select too, but it may be too difficult.

Also an 'export image' feature could help.

P.s.

Fix closeapp attacks and traps recharge (make them free it is not fixed soon)

Well if you target road bonus like I do, you probably can do better than my low 570%. Constantly getting 3-4 starred the last week too. Raiders take the precious oil all the time. Don't listen to Eddie ;)

In addition to everything posted thus far (especially saving unfinished layouts, I play on an old device and it's frustrating spending so much time on a new layout and it crashes when I'm placing the final buildings), I would really like to see everything sorted not just alphabetically, but by category as well. For example, collapsing trees sorted by Defensive, Offensive, Economic and Wonders.

Yes, an option to select multiple walls or roads would be nice. Rather than moving them one at a time just move a bank of 6 or 10, etc. And 'saves' of other bases for later use - definitely!

definitely need a save feature for both finished and partially base designs.

also a base test mode, which gives you and alliance mates the ability to run test attacks on your own base designs. these test would provide loot or medals, and no troops or medals would be lost when testing.

You can already move multiple roads / walls with the select more button when they are placed or dragging and dropping a line when placing them down from the map editor.

Would love to be able to select and move multiple objects in one go.

that's an excellent idea, so often you place a bunch of buildings, walls and roads, then realize that they all need to be shifted over 2 squares to the left. currently it's a huge pain to pick them all up and move them over.

Indeed, selecting a square of buildings would be nice. If I want to move my base 1 block to the left, need to remove all buildings, roads, use 'select more' on my walls, find out that for some bug I can't place a wall there, remove all walls, place walls where I originally wanted them but weren't allowed to move them, place buildings again.

but to be fair, I don't have much complaints about map editor, besides gates and walls sometimes 'red' where there is no reason for it, I'm all pleased about it. it saves progress gently, if I quit app while doing map editor (for example at work) and want to finish it at home it lets me with out a problem.

I guess if multiple layouts would be to hard to implement, at least 'restore previous layout' would be nice...

Please give us at least two bases, each with activate and edit button.

Layout still able to be saved, even uncompleted, but cannot be activated until fully populated.

Absolutely agree. In my 'empower the alliance' thread in new ideas I specifically asked for a testing/battle ground in the alliance to test layouts.

Thank you for this post. You can probably tell from the many responses that we all feel a bit starved for mod attention.

So my response: I find the editor to be excellent. I have no trouble using it. There are wall issues here or there, but nothing problematic. The one feature that would really add is what you've heard in many previous posts: multiple bases!!! So this would mean a save/load option. The reason, for me, that this would be useful, is that I'd like to switch between defended/undefended TCs.

Yes, and TEST mode. Fantastic. Ideally, testing my own base or having alliance members test it would be classic.

This has come up more than once, and GroteKoning's "empower alliance" post made it to a ranked forum user request list.

If army build times have to be long, then this would be an ideal way to spend time. Updating and testing base layouts would be a highlight for me.

Maybe bases could be updated, saved, and tested before being activated (available for others to attack).

I want a desert or snow backdrop instead of this green and more green.
I also want to be able to place paved areas (they're not roads. Just decor.)
