True, you'll be investing in the long game. until you reach the end game and your time off building and cost savings are not important as you have all buildings and upgrades...

i chose japanese, cause i'm japanese.

i don't think any nation is so superior to any other to the fact that you could never win. fact of the matter is the game requires skill and skill will ultimately determine how successful you are in these types of games. just pick a nation you like and roll with it. have fun :)

I chose romans, the 10% army size will be good regardless of how far I advance. I try to choose bonus that are useful no matter what the progress. I did choose Acropolis as my wonder but I'm planning on building the Colosseum since it receives the benefit of the Acropolis. Notre dame is interesting though

I chose Romans because by far the best way to get food and gold is through raiding. I would much rather spend 30 minutes raiding a couple guys for the loot I need instead of hoarding it and hoping nobody attacks me and takes it.

Germans have a huge upper hand in the tactics department- which is paramount to advancing in a game archetype like this one. Romans are a close second imo

I chose Japanese to begin with, then switched to the Romans after I realized I would be playing this game more than I initially intended and would be attacking more, so the 10% increase in my army seemed like the way to go. I've been enjoying the benefits from the beginning.

I choose Chinese...yeah its okay to make fun of me for that. The one extra builder is useless 98% of the time since almost all buildings require even numbers to upgrade/build. So the one extra lonely person who can never find a job just sits there nearly the whole time, praying against the odds a bunny will show up so he can have a meal that day, before I realize I'm wasting my time waiting for a whitish speck to appear on a screen to justify, for 10 seconds, choosing Chinese. The one extra defender doesn't even come into effect until a little later, and then of course does not make a difference. Chu ko nu are pretty nice, though its hard to tell if the dps boost makes a real difference, since I can't run the same battle with other archers instead. Certainly not superior to some other unique units, so doesn't help the Chinese cause really. They fire twice as fast, but each shot does ~60% less damage than other nations archers. Overall they do 22.5-30% (varies by age) more damage than other nation's archers by my math. But they still die about as quick.

If we ever get to change, I am changing on day one, to either German or Roman, or if I'm super lazy and forgetful perhaps Greek.

Any tips on which nation I should choose?
I'm now at the bronze age and thinking to get the Romans even though I don't know their abilities or whatsoever, I'd like to choose them because I like them in general.
My first wonder was the Hanging Gardens, does this affect anything?

Sorry if my english is sluggish and I'm still a noob :rolleyes:

Well, it totally depends on your game style.
Defensive/eco -> China, Greek, Japanse
Agressive.-> British, French, Romans, Germans

My point of view: Go with an agressive civ if you are an active player.

If you ''trust'' your army management go Germany. The unique is the strongest one I think, and the quick Rally is really really good if you know how to use it.
The british loot bonus is not that good, but they have good units.
I really dont think that the romans are THAT good.
And the french gives you a less amount of time to train Troops..
But again, if you are good in battle, and you know how to use the rally, you ll not loose that many troops, so your training time ll not be that much.
Theres no need to say that I picked Germany.

Btw, look at this if you need more info

I choose Romans for the 10% attack. It's the safest bet especially with future ages coming. When Industrial age comes out don't be Jelly I have an extra Tank/Blimp. Their unique unit is extremely fast to train and with the extra health swarming is quite successful. If i was to consider another It would defo have to be Japanese, combined with Acropolis and Colosseum their defence is far above any1 else however they should also hoot out of the forgotten city...
