I quit the game today (at least temporarily). Frustration level is too high. I agree with most of the comments made earlier.
I have bought crowns in the past, probably $50 or so total. I was a big fan early on as the game reminded me of Age of Empires III (obviously).
However, as I moved up in age (now EA) it became too hard to protect loot for a major upgrade. I have reasonable defenses (as far as I can tell), got raided three times overnight and lost 700,000 gold out of 1.8M. I play Clash of Clans too and strongly prefer their shield mechanism. I know if I get raided at 9pm and get a shield that I won't lose any more loot before 9am the next day in Clash.
