World War - Is it only our alliance

For the last month or so it seems Nexon is offering up a week alliance one war and a strong alliance the next. I'm top ranked in our alliance and every other war it gives me their third or fourth as my "recommended target". Then it gives us an alliance that we double the stars on. Does anyone else have something like this happening? Is it just coincidence? Does the code have some internal ranking where win and it gives you tougher opponents, lose and it gives you easier opponents?

I don't think so. But I could be wrong.

I believe they will pair you with whoever is available in your range closest match your att / def ratio. Sometimes we have been paired with an even easier alliance after a win. So I guess that part is rendom.

I think it's random, remember if you toss a coin the odds are 50/50, but that doesn't mean you can't get tails 5 times in a row.

The overall strength (calculated from the attack and defense potential of allies included in war) of both alliances matched up will be similar.

As the case is with averages, if there's imbalance in the constituents (a handful of very high level players, and the rest of the players being low level, or, all players of an alliance being at similar levels, or, a relatively smooth gradation in strength from the highest rank to the lowest rank), either in your alliance or your opposing alliance, you might find the matchups to be either too easy or too tough.

You might want to examine the strategy you adopt for wars, and how you match up your allies against the opposition bases for attacks, to improve your chances of success in wars.

Some of us have discussed match up strategies for attacks by allies against opponent bases in wars on this thread

https://forum.nexonm.com/forum/nexon...0541-war-rules

This might help you.

Let us know if you need additional help, and we will be glad to assist you in any possible way.

Cheers and happy gaming!

And, it's never a good idea to go by the "Recommended Target" suggested by the game, for attacks in wars (just in case you're using that "feature" to guide your attacks in wars).

I understand how random works. It just seemed unlikely that the last 16 or so all followed that pattern. Which is why I posted to get an idea if we were the outlier or if it was something in the code.

Oh we don't go by recommend targets. But I figure that's a much more accurate comparison of levels of the opponents than actual levels since one person might have lots of upgraded roads and resources and another might have put everything in offense and defense.

I almost never go for a recommended target. Like last 20 wars or so, game is offering to easy opponents for me. I have idea, that this could be because of my exp lvl. I am at 144 global and ussually game recommends me to attack about the same lvl players. And in a last 3-4 ww we get alliances from the top 100 in a world. Overal way stronger than we are from 1 to last ww member (ussually 20, 25). Most of the times our last 5-8 players goes black in a ww report. And choosing different age players not helping either. We are 8-10 global, 8-12 indusrial and 4-7 enlightenment and gunpowder players. Our opponnets does not have enlightenment age player. All industrial or global. It looks like there is not much machups avialable. Nexon could show each ally "strenght" score at a ww menu. Would be nice addition.
