"Tighten the Ranks - Keep in formation!"
Hello Leaders!

Beginning on 1/16/18, War sizes of 35 vs. 35 and 45 vs. 45 players are being removed in order to boost available matches in other war sizes. Active World Wars with 35 or 45 member Alliances will not be affected – so fight on and earn those final few Victory Stars!

We will also be making the following improvements to combat:
• Mortar troops will be ready for battle nearly 40% faster, and will cost less food to train!
• The cost of re-arming activated traps will also be reduced. The higher the level of your traps, the steeper the discount!

Looking to recruit more members to your Alliance in order to reach the next war size? Check out the Alliance Gate!

I don't care about the 45 matches, my alliance never found them anyway. But eliminating 35v35 means a big drop from 40. Please rethink that one.

And about time you realized that mortar troops are not worth the current training time and cost. I might start using them now. I completed the library research to increase their damage and range, but they still weren't as good as howitzers.

This change is a little confession from game that the game is dying... has lack of enough players/alliances...and the worst thing is still they won't listen to their members!
If you listened to your members, then many members still were here and didn't leave, and you had not to do these changes!
If again don't care then have to limit war size again and again....

I disagree, but since I don't have any proof that the game isn't dying (exactly as you provide no proof, just some weak circumstantial evidence that is actually conjecture) I won't labor the point. I think this is just realistic. Searching for 45 wars was pointless, so now those searches will be lumped in with 40s, and the 35s with 30s. I ran a few 35x35 wars and did not have to wait long, so the change is probably to increase the likelihood of getting a fair match at 30x30.

Mortars still need a big boost in hp/dps, the cost and training time really don’t matter to me. They need some sort of buff to even be considered into any army composition. Yes, there’s a library technology for them, but what if you’re not in Global Age?

Mortar troop are designed as light artilery - hence it is by design weakr than howitzers. The problem however is troops space. Howitzers are still kinda the supperior choice.

The main problem with mortar troops are the rate of fire is to slow, if that was speeded up then yes they would always be in British army.

Question: If they're still not as good, why use them just because they're cheaper?

Mortars don't compare to either shooters (British or otherwise) or artillery. The fact that there is a library chapter for them plus this new implementation just proves that.
You can lead a horse to water Nexon, but it's futile, as they say in the deep south ''Your mortar don't hunt'' ! :D
As Hondaboy said, they need a faster rate of fire, plus wider splash damage, for me to think about using them.

This is a good starting for troop balance. I will try to add Mortar in my troop combo.

And I believe there are still some room for further buff.

Under Current AI Script, Mortar waste a lot of its fire to tanks,
I am expecting Mortar works similar to sniper tower, always fire on furthest target available and left those approaching defender to shooters.

No more 35/35 wars.. what kind of BS is that?
Thats 90% of our wars..
For the first time Im starting to think this game is getting close to needing life support

Yup it's a thinly veiled admission the game has had a massive stroke. Pulling 35v35 and 45v45 but not 40v40 or 50v50 and trying to buff mortar troops (which nobody uses) is a completely futile move.

Instead they need to nerf/remove the silo which has caused the war pool to shrink massively and INCREASE the war loot.

But wait lets keep the silo and patheticly insulting war loot and began removing war features. Yeah that makes perfect sense. 🤣😂😆🤣😂

If the mortar troop just disappeared magically, I doubt anyone would care, nice attempt trying to buff useless things, but never adding stability or balance to the nations.

What bugs me the most is that in 99% of the threads the BHG employees never respond. I am sure they read them, but never justify anything. I doubt they will address this no matter how much we write... or worst - they will post generic, politically correct answer desing to pacify us but ultimately will say nothing of value :/

They're not just cheaper, they will retrain faster. If I lose a field howitzer, I can't attack again for a minimum of 16 minutes. If I switch to mortars, and I lose 1 or 2, I could be ready again in 9 minutes. With a training blessing, less than 4 minutes.

More nonsense about the game dying based upon... your dislike of the missile silo? Or is it decoy lag this time? Not sure what you're complaining about now.

There's no evidence that the game is dying, in fact my experience running two alliances is that more new people are coming than ever before, and I'm not seeing any established players leaving. Why would they, after investing so much time and $$ into it?

The missile silo is fine. Why don't you learn how to deal with it instead of constantly complaining about it?

It does for them... can’t win battles and keep many troops now! Have to retrain more, costs to boost training go to Nexon. They make more dosh. Simples!

The game is far from dying and changes like this are not an indicator of game health. These two war sizes happen to be the least used. There could be any number of reasons but we're actively trying to improve the overall experience for everyone :)

Well, I agree 100% that the 35 and 40 player worldwars are taken off the game. NEXON should also take off the "developer matchmaking world war". Sorry, this terrible and unfair matchmaking destroys the game. My alliance members are not talking part into worldwars anymore. We just had another matchup of 565:10, which means that most of my players will again not show up for their 2 fights. Since months the matchmaking is completely osandbacksff. Change it or lot´s of players will quitt the game. Needless to say. Our opponent has 5 sandbags.
