3 Planes or 1 Plane + 1 Zeppelin?

I wanted to get everyone's thoughts on what they prefer here. I keep going back and forth on which I prefer, but I'm leaning more and more toward the 3 planes, especially as they get upgraded and factoring in the final part of the Aviation research tree making them more survivable. In addition, I probably will be using the Statue of Liberty, which I think is pretty useful for planes (not so much for zeppelins as they already annihilate anything they target).

Anyway, what are your thoughts?

3 planes for me, much simple in tactics, save a lot of upgrade cost. And you can use only 1 or all 3 in multiplayers, depend on situation.

It depends on what you have on the ground. If you have heavy tanks then you just have to clear the troops for them a bit. If you have more of mix an match then one plane and one airship is better. I do both back and forth to keep things fresh.

I use 3 biplanes, I have now Statue of Liberty, all Aviation chapters, Biplane is MK2, Zeppelin is MK1 still.

I'm happy with them, though a friend in my alliance of my level, still only 2 spaces though, he says he is also very happy with the Zep.

So I don't know, the Zepelin feels difficult to use for me, the Biplanes I just spam some times, more brainless and easy... But probably if you learn how to use it, 1 Zep 1 Biplane can be a better combination, assuming both maxed to level 3, I don't know.

I use 3 Triplane Mk2 at the moment, I havent completed the research yet, but I do find all the planes fragile. The Zep is the worst, a tower just needs to look at it and its down! Thats an hour to replace! However 3 planes are great if you are careful they can survive the battle and realy help your guys on the ground by stunning defences. Planes lose their benefit when he opponent has AA defences though...moving to global soon so will be meeting more bases like that.

I use all planes, but I think the only other combo that would make sense is 1 plane and 1 transport. Bombers lose pretty much all effectiveness in Global and Atomic ages.
