A question about the TAJ MAHAL wonder...

I'm considering building this wonder- it says you can hire 1 "Free" mercenary per day; does that mean you could potentially have 5 mercenaries, or just 3 and a free one?

I have it and honestly wish I didn't. The mercenary bonus hardly seems worth it and I'm given Tercios or whatever they are called most of the time. I never get the Elephant riders, which are personally my favorite.

No, it's not an EXTRA slot. It's just like hiring a mercenary from a cleared forest--there has to be room in your camp.
