A question regarding the methodology of Loonies...

From what I can tell, Loonies reached his position on the leaderboard by fighting against his alts at low levels where there was no one able to attack him, because everyone was two or more leagues up. However, I’m having a hard time understand how it’s possible to do this. Say you’re in a low age, and you’ve managed to make it so that all matchups that aren’t your alts are high-level bases. You’re attacking your alts and trying to keep them all within range. Wouldn’t each attack and defeat for all of them cancel out? Say that each account attacks one another — won’t the medals gained and lost be equal, so that you don’t really get anywhere?

My mind kind of hurts trying to process it. If you have, say, five accounts, and you attack yourself on each of them, how do you ever gain any?

Once Loonies had literally no opponents and couldn’t drop medals or attack for resources, there was nothing to do except start an alt account. When it got high enough, then Loonies had someone to attack ... and to drop medals to. The alt is still able to attack the rest of the player base, adding medals to the total held between Loonies and the alt over time. You may have noticed Loonies recently dropped 500 medals because he was getting out of range again.

This is saying, keep attacking until I find no one else but my alt right?

Wouldn’t he have encountered the issue where bases out of your age range appear? There are always people near you in *medals*, but not necessarily in age — once you go high enough as a Bronze Age fresh account, you start seeing impossibly high level buildings which are obviously not Classical-Iron ranged.

If you keep playing long enough, you will eventually get past the impossibly high age opponents medal totals too, and be left in a void where there are no players either age-wise or medals-wise. But it is a long trek, and your interest may perish along the way...

Yes that’s what happened to Loonies, except there was no alt when he was left all alone at the summit. The alt came later.

Then it’s a question of my finger’s endurance finding new opponents ;)

Did he just prey on exposed TCs once he got past a certain point in medals? That’s basically the only way you’ll be able to gain medals once you start seeing battles out of your league.

When the opponent is worth only one medal, then sniping the TC is just as good as 5 star.

I love when people with Stone Age houses but Medieval defences have no TC (or many other buildings) to be seen. The only thing that I see is shiny green grass!

I hope it's a fair way. Every age deserves to be on the leaderboard!
I'm pretty sure your fingers are endured Persia 😆

If you are trying for high medals, you will eventually run into all the bugged bases that crash your battle whenever they are attacked. These bases’ medal totals have been pushed up over time to very high levels. Once you run into this wall of bugged bases, you will want to start a list of all the bases that aren’t bugged and only attack those otherwise you will lose too many medals against the bugged ones.

I’m at 803 right now. They don’t seem to lose me medals — they crash me for sure, but nothing happens after I’m back in the game. Related question, did he even try to attack bases with protected TCs that were high above his level (Gunpowder+ bases are completely impossible), or did he just keep Nexting until he got an Iron or Classical opponent he could beat?

Nate the Great Loonies has answered this before - he gets cold war age troop cards as rewards on that account when troop cards are offered. Those are simply based on the league you are in, so dynasty gets cold war, empire atomic, etc.
