About Heavy Tanks

Hello, as I have found no topics directly about this, I'd like to get advice from Industrial players, about the factory Heavy Tanks.

Is it useful? How does it compare to regular tanks? How does it develops in battle? What are its weakness or things to be worried about?

I'm Roman, upgrading factory now. Still I don't have IA wonder, but I think I'll pick Brand Gate. So it's the Heavy Tank of any use after that?

Splash damage in the library is already researching, don't know if this tank has any upgrade in the armory as well?

They are much better than regular tanks. The splash damage is a must, though. They can take out all the forest defenders in one shot. Just gotta protect them from cannon towers, and they can destroy a base nearly on their own.

On the paper they looks awesome but I happen to not know how to use them properly. They don't prioritize killing the defensive buildings, so they can easily be destroyed by defenders + anti-tank gun while being busy shooting at a refinery or farms. And they are slow.

Just gotta protect them from cannon towers, and they can destroy a base nearly on their own.

So a mix of saboteurs and tanks could take out a base on their own if the saboteurs take down all the canon towers first?

I use the heavy tank with my roman nation and I also have the BG - otherwise I don't bother with it for my other nations. (too much troop space for ROI).

Tried them, now I have splash damage also, and don't think they are worth.

25 spaces, makes for almost 3 artilleries. Also 900 oil is really a pain if the army won't survive.

Idk if with Brandebourg they become much better, but anyways I'm picking Statue, so I won't know.

But so far don't find them worth. They should occupy 20 spaces, equivalent to 2 regular tanks, so maybe them they'll be useful.

Yeah - unless you use 2 or 3 they're only good for a distraction to get your army going or for a cleanup.
