AI change, troops more likely to spread out

I'm putting this in the bugs forum because I think changes like this need to be fixed. After the update my shooters are much more likely to wander off and leave my artillery unprotected. I am getting killed by bases I would normally have an easy time with. I'm sure I could adapt, but this is such a big change in behavior I think it should be put back the way it was.

Same here. Can't controll them anymore! They are all over. After a rally they become even more disoriented. And stll fighting with the walls, right next an open gap.

Edit: The planes are also more stupid. When called to attack a building on the left side of the base, they start flying from the far right side, crossing over the entire base.

I have also noticed that my archers are ignoring defence buildings and going right next to them to attack other buildings....and DIE

You guys are just now noticing this? It's been this way for as long as I've had ballistas. So...about a year now. Imho, cannons priorities should be changed to defensive buildings. This nonsense where they'll beeline away from the pack to shoot at a mill because of its higher HP needs to end.

The behavior is already scripted in the cavalry/tank branch, so changing cannon priority to that would seemingly be easier than getting shooters to actually follow their job descriptions.

It infuriates me when I see the loading screen that says "Cannons are powerful, but vulnerable. Protect them with ranged infantry!"

How? When your shooter AI actively does everything but that?

While we're putting our unicorn hunt together. Fix attacking troops reactions to command post archers. Tired of seeing one or two overpowered defenders wipe out 30 guys before they react. Archer nations already get enough advantages, as the 80% of attacks being archer spam swarms can attest to.

Of course these complaints aren't exactly new here. I've yet to see them addressed in any official capacity and people have been making these observations for over a year and a half. So I assume Nexon/BHG must think their AI is working as intended.

Sigh. Sometimes it's just good to vent I suppose.

I read somewhere that there was a change to British shooters. Their favorite target used to be "any", and now it is defenders. Which would explain why they wander away from my artillery.

I have in fact adapted, by dropping my troops to take out garrisons and stables first. That way the shooters actually complement my siege weapons.

IA does seemed to be dumbed down. (mixed results at best!) I dropped a couple raiders right next to a blown wall. One raced ahead to do it's job while the other shot at the wall and got killed. I also see the engineers go wherever the hell they want to! Admittedly I have seen this produce good results when a corner gets blown up opening up multiple sections but this is the extremely rare case as they more often die along the way. I wish they would simply b-line to the nearest wall when I drop them!!!
