Artillery on defense

Some guy in my alliance claim the donated cannon defended and attacked troops on defense. I wanna know if this is true, am i missing something? Or is that guy trippin' ?

Raiders are good on defence, their speed gets them across the base to the annoying distractor soldier, so the bulk of your defenders stay put

I love gatling on defense. They crush the attacker army.

Lol, cannons are amazing at taking out clumps of troops. Gotta love that splash damage. Gatlings are better though
