I know in Gunpowder age i reached a point at 1100 where I was able to defeat bases, but it was really hard to progress past getting any decent loot. I'm Enlightment age now and I'm thinking whether I should push medals towards kingdom or just stay low in medals until i'm Industrial age? Any Enlightment players getting crazy loot high in medals?
At what age/point you get more resources when climbing medals?

League Bonuses don't really kick in until 2000 medals
It's a while back, but I started climbing when I had max attack GP, but EA was top level then, so now I suppose start climbing as soon as you have max EA troops - most of the bases are going to be EA/IA anyway.

The 70k battle bonuses are definitely worth it on their own but the most interesting thing I've found at 2400+ medals is that for some reason I'm paired against much more Gunpowder Age bases than I was in the lower ranges. This would be nice if I used a 5-starring army, but at 1 medal per win there's still little reason not to just snipe and move on. If you have the patience you can definitely make it all the way to Dynasty I in Enlightenment Age, it's just too much mindless grinding for me personally. But beware; playing 2-3 hours getting 1 medal per win just to logout and lose 35 to a maxed Industrial Age cheater who for some inexplicable reason is hanging around in Gold III is disheartening to say the least.

The long no man's land between 1200 and 2000 is painful. But after 2000 it's an oasis of loot. Here you'll find a ton of base with good loot you can 5-star relatively easily, meaning that on top of the loot + 50k bonus you frequently cash in the 20k bonus for gold clean up and the diamond. Life is easy. Currently at 2,400 I still enjoy the 5-star attack but i'm more frenquenly attacked by guys from USA elite, 1st dinasty, topdominator,...
This is interesting as I was thinking about starting g a similar topic. EA with upgraded foot, archers & raiders at the moment. I'm currently in 1,200 medals and climbing (easiest to snipe with foot tbh).
Main reason was the league bonuses were so low before hand (3.5k) it took ages to get the upgrade when you were only looting 100k of each resource on average. It's still low, but it'll get better.
Also, TC outside my walls so I get a PT for a loss of about 1k of each resource. Which is fine, to be honest!
