- Fixed a condition in which players could appear on the Leaderboard, but be unavailable for competitive play with other members of the Leaderboard We’d like to remind all of you that taking advantage of in-game exploits is against the TOS and we will find you.

So they pulled the plug on Loonies with the last server maintenance. They may have even done the shut down just for him given they already added more capacity a few days ago.

But what exactly has changed? Was it just banning one player or has there been a real fix being implemented? Have the in-game exploits been fixed or they still exist and it was just easier to ban an account than rethink the system?

If we follow this principle, once global age comes out and the majority of the leaderboard is in global age, are you going to ban any player that is still in enlightenment and still appears on the leaderboard?

Where do you set the limit? Loonies did it in an extreme way to prove a point, but what about medieval age, gunpowder age? Are they not allowed on the leaderboard just because they can't be attacked by industrial age players?

I can understand why Loonies had to go because it threatened the game's business model. But what exactly is the rule for being allowed on the leaderboard then?

PS: Loonies, if you're still reading this, congrats on being smarter than most. And check your PM :)

By removing loonies from leader board NEXON admitted their incompetent. That is not fixing the problem at leader board you only remove the problem.

We are sorry to see you go Loonies. Zombies were watching you with great interest. You made a great drinking game too lol. If you come back from your ban you are welcome to join Hobbit Zombies when you get your alliance gate. You will fit in our ranks very well... we have been known to be a little Loony from time to time ;)

I actually thought it was entertaining watching them climb the leader board. I was pulling for them to get to number 1. Hoping BHG would fix this silly medal system they have.

No Title

I'm not banned because we're playing legit. I noticed that they haven't banned high age players hiding out in low medals. This is not over!

Cool so get yourself to 6000 medals then start upgrading to Gunpowder. I'm sure no Englightement player will be able to hit you that high either. And in the very worst case, setup your defense smart enough and you will still be able to climb medals faster than you'll lose. Up for a new challenge? :)

I tried this strategy... The problem I ran into was once I got into 500 600 medals in bronze the. Iron Age all I found were cheaters to attack. I found endless Bronze Age players with canons, not ballistas, they had those to which they weren't supposed to have but canons. Then I was getting enlightenment bases as a bronze player... Talk about a broken game database, I couldn't find a legit bronze base to attack to go up, not even 1 medal at a time.,my normal base being kingdom league, industrial. Then I went to Iron Age, again back to 600 medals, I got everything back to getting crazy cheater bases and enlightenment bases.... Wasn't as many as the bronze bases per raid run, but I would run out of money faster and suffer losing lots of medals and have to build back up, so without a ton of crowns and buying my way up, toooo many cheater bases to go through... A novice wouldn't notice at this level cause they wouldn't know what they were looking at.

Seriously, I find this VERY TROUBLING indeed. Nexon/BHG chose to take the low road instead. Instead of fixing the problems (matching algorithm, medal win/loss math, no opponent issue, ban REAL cheaters, etc), Nexon/BHG improperly invested time/effort. For example, the level 198 player has been reported NUMEROUS times and yet not banned. How much validation is needed to verify that to take action? The no opponent issue is becoming a deal breaker for me. Who has the time to be mindless zombie tapping on screen to look for opponents? I am edging nearer to the exit door as time goes on.

Nexon/BHG, game is NOT fun anymore! Are you not getting the message from gamers?

The no opponent-callers are funny. They climb to the top and then they wonder why they are alone there. It´s just a law of nature.

I think Loonies may have been able to accumulate over 3,700 medals at level 8 simply by getting only defensive victories, if he averaged 38 medals per victory, he would need only 100 to get to 3,800.

This could be done if he multiple accounts and belonged to a group of alliances having players with multiple accounts willing to lose medals in legal sham attacks.

By using only 1 archer to attack the tower, Loonies would get a victory.

I suspect he belongs to an ELITE group & may have an account with a rhyming name.

This would truly be a cooperative group of alliances.

Does anyone else have an alternative solution?

Moonies pulled this off as a one man operation no sham attacks from allies needed.

That is identical to my experience when I tried it - I didn't go beyond Bronze though. I was expecting grinding out 1 medal attacks on other Bronze/Iron Age bases but faced completely screwed up Classical/Med/GP/EA.

As it takes about 1 day to get to Iron Age, 90% of players have already quit due to the whopping 4 hours upgrade times and if this is what they face maybe more than 90%.

Not a law of nature - it's poor game design. Matchmaking on medals doesn't even work on paper, how it's survived 1.5 years of development, 6 months beta and global release since April I've no idea. The when you add in that for 99% of the time players are unavailable for attack due to Peace Treaties - a complete comedy of errors. Then when you do get a base to attack, 9/10 they are maxed walls and abandoned but you have to take the TC to get the solitary medal hoping the shonky AI doesn't let you down.

Interesting theory.

But you have to be in Iron Age to get the Alliance benefits.

But what you say could apply to any top player - the rest of the alliance are setup to support him - bit like a cycling team really. So how do you design your way out of that?

Is there a link to the TOS? I expect it's that gigantic spiel that no one actually reads before you hit accept as you download a game- but I was hoping it might also be posted here on the forums somewhere. It might be useful to read that thing more carefully. 8P

The TOS probably doesn't even exist, just an excuse to change the rules whenever they see fit :)

I wonder what they will do when Loonies has 10,000 medals or something ridiculous and upgrades all the way to industrial age.
