City Center spawn radius after the update

After the update City Center’s spawn radius got extended by a range of 2.
Till now City Center’s spawn radius was same as it was shown once you click on your City Center ( 5 range diagonaly and horizontaly from the edge of City Center)
Right now City Center spawns at a radius that’s longer by a range of 2.
Tested it couple of times already, so my question is - was it intended? Or is it a bug?
If it aas intended why info about it can’t be found anywhere in patch notes?

I , and probably many here messed up war attacks thanks to not knowing that spawn radius for defenders and donated troops from City Center changed.

Not nice Nexon,not nice

I had a war attack right after the update and I was also surprised as well that town center troops spawned much more sooner than I wanted them to.

Yeah, this one cost a few of our higher level attackers the 5 Star before we noticed it and more than likely cost us the war as a result.

Agree, not nice at all.

Cost me a war, dropped a decoy pretty far from the tc, still had Howies coming out, completely the me off plan! A small note should be included for changes like these

Checked with engineering, and they confirmed we didn't make any changes to the Town Center for the most recent update. While investigating, I can't see the radius listed in the Library (under Partisans) or the Town Center Info screen.

From what I can see in the documentation, the official range for the Town Center should be 8. This may be odd to compare to other buildings, since it has a much larger footprint than other ranged buildings.

If there's somewhere in game that shows this radius, please call it out! We'd be happy to update the text!

There’s no way it had a range of 8 if I could take it out with howies before it spawned and same with the Fort

Indeed, long ago it was range 8, but then it changed to something around range 5. Howitzers could fire on it and it not be triggered, but now it's back to 8.

But to be honest, the change to 5 was never documented either, so perhaps it's just being corrected to what it should have been all along.

Quovatis Incorrect.
Range as a statistic is the radius of the circle whose centre is, well, in the centre of the building. The distance of 5 tiles is more useful for us and easier to understand, since it signifies at what distance our troops will trigger the TC. Same as with literally every other defensive - spawning building, range is the radius from the centre of the building which forms a circle.

The current real "range" i.e. radius of the TC is 10 tiles and not 8, as it was before and as the current stats shows falsely.
Meaning an effective 7 tiles distance from TC when it activates.

Above post explained it nicely as well.

Yes the range at which troops trigger from the TC has increased by 2 since the release. Can’t say it plainer than that. I’m actually not minding it.

It's simple.
If you have strong decoys and good planes, it's not a problem
If you have neither (pre-GA players) it's a problem

As a member of an alliance that accepts and helps any age players and newbies, this will be a headache to try and keep them invested in wars when they keep getting killed by howies.

TinSoldier Please look at the pictures. The first shows the spawn radius that we see in map editor. It’s 5 wall sections from edge of the TC which is why we say 5 spaces. From the center of the TC the range would be 8. There’s two more spaces from the last wall section, or spawn radius circle, to the edge of the forest.

The next picture shows the TC spawning indicator as soon as the unit walks past the forest 7 spaces from the edge of the TC, well before the unit has broke the spawn radius of the TC. This never happened prior to the latest update.

No Title

Just providing additional proof. Im not affected by it as much as others but if this change was intentional or if this was what it was supposed to be this entire time then i believe we should have been notified

Thats right, TC was definatelly in howies range and howies were not in TCs range. I used to drop a single howie to kill TC that was outside the walls and never triggered the TCs defenders and now do trigger.

You are right of course, and actually some software adjustment is required either way. As it stands, the trigger radius displayed when you tap the TC is two spaces short of the actual trigger radius. Either shorten the trigger radius or fix the displayed range. And update the notes.

@tin soldier, the range of the tc is supposed to be 8, 8 from the center which makes it 5 from the midpoint of each edge. You can click on the town center and it will show a giant white circle showing what supposedly is it's range. 5 from the edge, 8 from the center.

Here is the problem: it is now 10 from the center, NOT 8. 7 from each edge, not 5.

I have video I can share or screen shots. This is a change. IT IS REAL. It is a noticeable change, and the fact that once again you are arguing with players who have reliably shown to know what they are talking about is absurd.
