In response to the CIA’s failed Bay of Pigs invasion, Fidel Castro allowed the Soviet Union to deploy nuclear missiles in Cuba in 1962. U.S. President John F. Kennedy ordered a naval blockade of the island and demanded that the Soviets withdraw their nuclear weapons, leading to 13 days of tense negotiations with Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev. Finally, on October 27th, the two leaders reached an agreement: the U.S.S.R. would publicly withdraw its missiles from Cuba, and the U.S.A. promised to forego invading Cuba. The U.S.A. would also secretly withdraw its rockets from Turkey, and human civilization would survive another day. (Event lasts from 15:00 UTC 12/06 until 15:00 UTC 12/12.)

When I read the header, the first thing I thought was missile silos 50% cost reduction, but it turned out to be quite different event. Still I'll try to make the most of it, mostly by upgrading Generals
