Factory troops and Airplanes are 33% cheaper for a limited time!

On October 27, 1962, at the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis, U.S. Air Force Captain Charles Maultsby's U-2 spy plane drifted off course into Soviet airspace due to interference from the northern lights. Concerned that the plane could be carrying a nuclear bomb, the Soviets sent several fighter jets to destroy it. Luckily, Maultsby was able to guide his plane out of Soviet territory before he could be shot down.

Event lasts from 14:00 UTC 8/3 until 14:00 UTC 8/6.

Is it cheaper to build those units, or to upgrade them to the next level? Normally announcements like this indicate upgrading, which makes me think this may just be a reduction in build cost.

haha maybe. the sticker shock from losing those first few fleets of planes and HTs from ill advised raids was pretty severe. 1/3 off rebuilds would help the learning curve

The discount is on the upgrade cost for these units. It also stacks with the current Summer for the Ages discounts. I'm seeing my Industrial plane upgrades at 60% off!

Got Artillery and Supply Trucks cooking, prob won’t have time for upgrading my Biplane.

Same for me and since it's only a 3 day event. As soon as I was 1 day in for my planes, the event happened and of course my alliance members laughed because this always happens to me. Too bad these are all random events, I would've planned something completely different. That being said, it's very useful for those that can participate.

Yes, very interesting as we can combine both discounts in GA and tomorrow in AA and thus can save a lot of oil. That being said, I'm finishing my bomber tomorrow, upgrade discounted airstrip immediately by investing crowns and then start upgrade to strike fighter and heavy transport on the same day.Thanks!
