is that intended or a bug? its not listed in bugs of version 4.5

last update of bug list added generals shooting over walls, so i guess it's a bug but it's not only for generals.

Yes this has been confirmed by several players. It was NOT mentioned in the patch notes though. So is it intended or is it a bug?

Is this technically a bug? On offense those same troops can shoot over walls, correct? Except HT's, so for the HT it does seem like a bug. For the other troops it seems correct.

My french tanks can't shoot over wall when i am attacking, but defending medium or light tanks can. How is that possible?

Well then nvm, must be a bug...or maybe a change in direction. But if that's the case it's still a bug because it makes a lot more sense for the same troops to have similar capabilities on both sides of the field.

What sort of conditions is this occurring in for you guys? I've noticed this happening from well before the update in specific instances where my troops were going through walls with a gate that the enemy doesn't technically have to use because they were within range. That being said for me it is quite a rare occurrence.

You may be on to something, the time it happened to me it was a HT behind a gate...I was waiting for it to come through so I could use the betrayal on it once it was away from defenses and on the same side as my troops, but out of nowhere it started shooting from behind the gate.

Yep sounds like the same scenario. I believe it happens because the gates behave as gaps in the wall for defenders therefore they don't necessarily have to go through it to attack you if they are within range because the game thinks there are no obstructions, while at the same time your troops correctly see no gap so tanks and infantry can't retaliate.

I can add that crappy bases I've attacked where garrisons and stables are walled with no gate they will not do anything until the wall is broken since their AI doesn't allow it. This definitely makes me think it's related to the gates.

I think everyone should switch to the British until this issue is sorted out - & then Nexon should give us all 1000 crowns to switch back once this is fixed!!! I mean - they can trust us - right ..... ??!

that is probably relate to generals in attack. Still no one confirm defenders attack over wall is bug or new feature. All defenders can (if they have the range) , I doubt it is a bug!

Well considering I have personally observed this unit behaviour for a considerable time prior to the glory update now I'm pretty sure it's a persistent issue in the game.
Also just had a battle that reminded me of another condition and that is ambush traps right next to walls allowing the infantry to shoot through the walls. This is easily explained by the fact that the detection radius of the trap extends beyond the wall and new ambush troops think that there is no obstacle between them and the unit that sets the trap off.

aoe.kaskusempire what happens in the video is essentially the same as the ambush trap bug. The heavy tank spawns from the destroyed factory while the artillery are within its detection radius so it thinks there is no obstacle.
Yes this is a bad bug but it isn't a new one at all, it purely depends on the base layout and approach direction so it is a lot more uncommon than others. Hopefully it gets fixed in the next round of patches.
