Diamond hoarding

I get a lot of excess diamonds in my Trade Goods, so I trade them in for oil shipments and leave the shipments in my village until needed at a future date. I also have a diamond mine in my inventory that I haven't used. Because of this, I rarely use the diamonds in my Inventory Resources and I now have 287 of them. Does anybody else do this (cashing in for oil or hoarding diamonds in inventory)?

yes definitely. i managed to double upgrade my airport because of this tactic during summer of the ages

Not that many but creating a new base was hard cause there was no space left anymore. I was lucky I used all of them the right moment...Now I have a max airport and those beaytiful Supersonic fighters MK3 are waiting for them to research them
