Disaster Events
It definitely is nice to have good things happen to you. But these good thing will not last forever. Some bad things will certainly happen in the course of life. So what I suggest is to include some natural disasters as an event. But since 'Every cloud has a silver lining', there will be advantageous compensations for the handicapped variables. Some examples of the disasters are as follow.
Earthquake
Earthquakes are arch enemies of buildings whether ancient or modern. They wreck havoc with no mercy whether friend or foe.
Disadvantage : For the event week, all building's health points will be reduced for 30% (variable).
Advantage : Medal loss due to defensive defeat will be reduced by 50% (variable) while Medal gain due to defensive victory will be increased by 50% (variable).
Flood
Nothing can stop a raging tsunami angrily rushing to devour the civilization. Fast and wise decision is needed to take shelter on high ground!
Disadvantage : All the attacking and defending troops except air units will have their movement speed cut down by 20% (variable).
Advantage : Rally cooldown decreased by 5 sec (variable) and rally duration increased by 100% (variable).
Drought
A scorching sun over the head with no water to drink will surely make nearly every soldier lose faith. Only the most resilient ones can endure it barely.
Disadvantage : All unit production costs except oil will increase by two fold.
Advantage : AFTER the event ends, all resource raided will be emplifed by 10% (variable). (Works like loot blessing)
Famine
Food shortage is a global problem. In times of crisis, cunning merchants are the only ones to prosper!
Disadvantage : All the farms will produce 50%(variable) less food.
Advantage : All the caravans and roads will produce double gold.
Volcanic Eruptions
Whether active or extinct, volcanoes are indeed a sign of fear for the life living near them. While volcanic ash is a great hinderance to all transportations, volcanic lava hold the most fetile of minerals!
Disadvantage : All caravans and roads will produce 50% (variable) less gold.
Advantage : AFTER the event ends, all the farms will produce double food.
Plague
Plague during a war might really be the end of humanity! But those who overcome hardships are bound to be rewarded soone than later.
Disadvantage : All attacking and defending troops will have their max healthpoint reduced by 20% (variable).
Advantage : Medal gain and Valor gain will be doubled.
Storm
Storms last only a few days but the most devestating are the after effects. A strong support and never yielding will is needed to overcome the damages.
Disadvantage : All units and buildings will have their range of attack/effectiveness will be reduced by 1 (variable).
Advantage : AFTER the event, free finish timer will be increased by an hour for a week.
All the events will last for a week. The library will gain a new chapter 'Disaster Management'. Each chapter in the Disaster Management will relieves the adverse effects to a certain degree and increase the favourable effects to a certain degree.
