For the future of DomiNations, we wanted to be able to share the content you, as Leaders, can look forward to, all in one easy place. Our goal with Sitrep is to bring you up to speed on the state of DomiNations, including new features, updates, and opportunities for the community to get involved.

The team has been hard at work on upcoming features for Drone Age. We just released a teaser of things you can begin to think about regarding the Drone Command building. However, that doesn’t mean we have been leaving other aspects of DomiNations behind. We’re taking a look across the board at the economy of resources within the game and listening to player feedback that you’ve been sharing on the forum and social. We’re also looking at Troops across the ages, your experiences with features, and how players approach combat. Thanks to your generous feedback and passion, I’m happy to share that we have a few updates in the works!

85% Cap Update
In 11.2.5, we’re taking a look at how your modifiers from all sources impact your buffs and debuffs. We’re going to readjust how these stats interact before the battle. There were some instances in which High-Quality Artifacts that you built toward the Defensive end could create a scenario that didn’t feel great when focusing on these strategies. This gave advantages to offensive Museum Artifact builds and would sometimes create scenarios where Defensive Artifacts could lose their impact due to the level of buffs that Offense would have.

Before this update, the Debuff modifiers would be calculated as follows:

Player A: +200% Infantry Health VS. Player B: -200% Invading Infantry Health

200 + -200 (Caps at -85) = 115
Result: Player A’s Infantry will have 115% Health in battle as the Defensive Modifier cap would be applied before the final calculation.

Before the currently planned update, the Debuff cap would occur before the end result, meaning that anything higher than -85% would be lost.
The following is an example of what you could expect when these changes roll out:

Before your battle begins, we calculate the total of both the Buffs and Debuffs from the Attacking Army and the Defending Army. Once the result is calculated, the 85% cap is applied. The following example shows a standard matchup in which the stats negate each other, and no changes impact the Invading Infantry.

EX:
Player A: +200% Infantry Health VS. Player B: -200% Invading Infantry Health

200 + -200= 0
Result: Player A’s Infantry will receive No Change in stats, and the battle proceeds as normal.

But what if your Debuff greatly overshadows the opponent's Buff?

Player A: +100% Infantry Health VS. Player B: -200% Invading Infantry Health

100 + -200= -85
Result: Player A’s Infantry will have -85% Health in battle, which is the highest a Debuff can be valued!

The cap will apply to all Battle-Related debuff modifications affecting units and buildings. To be clear, the example here is just that and is subject to change. We’ll cover finalized details on the update to this modifier cap as we get closer to release.

Oil Economy Update
We also have a quick update on a resource in DomiNations. Based on feedback, we are re-evaluating the Oil Economy within DomiNations. These updates are planned to roll out in 11.2.5. We will have plenty more to share in the coming months, including a deep dive into the Drone Command Building.

First, thank you all for your feedback. With such a big balance update, we wanted to be able to get it in front of the community ahead of time, and we’ve heard your suggestions and concerns regarding the upcoming changes.

Because of this, we have decided to hold off on implementing the 85% debuff cap for the time being. We feel that these changes are still very important to DomiNations, but we will be going over community feedback to take a look at the concerns we’ve heard from the community regarding the impact on more Defensive playstyles.

The game is becoming very one sided to offence and boring for defenders. Wars are mostly time wars, maxed defensive bases that have taken 5+ years to construct are being flattened in 1m 30 secs by crazy offence imbalances. 5* attacks should be a severe challenge and not an expectation in war so give defenders the tools to ensure the maxed offence attackers have a challenge instead of this crazy mis-calculation in favour of offence. Maybe you should consider dropping HP quite significantly of prime attacking troops such as AH, Bomber, Para, Mortar etc as they are still vastly OP in my opinion.
 
This is the worst idea for a long time or ever. The cap is the only thing atm giving defense a chance to dominate. Have you even understand that there are 2 weapon, 2 armor but 4 (FOUR) equipment slots (ignoring Hermitage) here? Have you even understand that the „-„ (minus) lines at the equipment artifacts are mostly a benefit for offense?

Where the heck have you ever seen a +\- 200% scenario? EG, i have 163% attach helicopter damage on one of my accounts, the theoretical maximum I can have is 169%, based on museum and council. Maximum for defense is -60% and with Hermitage -90%, plus -19% barrack troops damage from the Abu Simbel.

All your math is right, but will never appear in a realistic scenario in the game. The only defense lines I see impacted by the cap are „Invading bombers“ and „Invading fighters“, probably I am missing one, idc.

But move forward, I am sure I will like my 120AEDTD and 115 AEDTHP which are already on the books. Not sure if defenders have similar sympathy, no I have doubts.
 
Honestly, you lost control about your game mechanism. And instead of working it up to a change from scratch, you are trying to fix things via changing some calculations. It’s stupid, nothing else.
 
Why not just ask the community what we want? Hire a community liason that will engage with players on reddit/discord/etc. When Vip Josh got a new job and the role was vacated, we have no one to talk to anymore.

Please make defense relevant again.

A nation rebalance and a coalitions rebalance is needed way before this is needed. 80% of players shouldn't be one nation.. and there are attacks that literally have no defensive coalition counter.
 
In addition to the question and suggestion I made about Cap Update and which I'm waiting for an answer to, I think we should give the staff and developers a chance to explain to us the motivations for the change and how they see that it can improve the game, as well as mention the purpose of change.

As much as the community has enormous experience and knowledge of the game, I think it would be interesting to know the motivations and goals. But one thing is for sure... We need more transparency on how the game's buffs and debuffs are applied at the edge.
 
It’s not just about the defender not having the combo. It’s impossible for a defender to know what you will switch to museum wise before war day. So even if they have the perfect museum for you, the chances of them guessing which museum you will use are slim.
That’s exactly what I meant by defender not havin the combo. It means that although he has a debuff for my combo in his inventory there’s no way for him to know who will attack his base. Even if he activates that combo in museum another teammate of mine with a different combo will overpower him since he can only defend effectively against one combo. And since my teammate has 100+ dmg for his combo it will just overpower that base in 1:30

This is a terrible idea. I am a defender - Awesomness - Unicorns Win. The example you use above is a straw man - its not real. Defenders can’t ever get more than 90% Inv Unit dmg or hp. Even that is never seen (would require 3 Weapons or Armor with 2 lines that are perfect (15% ) on each line. What DOES happen is attackers bring AEDTdmg and AEDThp of -120%. Right now this is cut to 85% before summation with defender giving defenders literally the only stat they can use effectively. Cut this an defenders will all be destroyed.

Lol, the example seems like a joke. It's like they don't even play or know their own game. The last several changes seem to keep having the opposite consequences of what they are trying to do.
 
About the oil economy update.

I was honestly waiting for a new type of resource, such as Lithiun, after all, Drones don't use oil and a good part of technological innovations trend to use more and more batteries. How is it possible to think about Drones or the future Age of Automation without using other resources?

This is not the type of update players want. We want a balance between for attacker and defense. This will break the game worse than it is and defense will be shredded. While stats may show that many wars don’t end in time wars, you will probably see significant increase in times wars. This will lead to more players leaving the game. Please do not make this change as described.

If this update goes through you will lose what little defenders you have left. This is a terrible idea which does not help defenders at all.

There is already too much power creep for offense with bombers, para/ht, heli, mortar and you want to throw gasoline on the fire as a solution. Defense has no way to combat all of those simultaneously aside from 3 lines. ADTD, ADTHP, DST. Your solution is to make 2 of those stats worse (See above link again and let it sink in, no really, it will probably take you a while...).

You still haven't released drones for your drone age.. ffs

I was holding out hope that maybe drone age might address the imbalance and defense could be adjusted to compensate for the dominance of offense. If this is your solution it's absolutely clear you don't understand your game or you don't give a shit about the player experience or both. Maybe you're just that dense (again, refer to link).

Bhg, listen to your diehard players. Chances are very good that they know the game better than you. Use them to these things before announcing anything. Not just the android users either. Ios players are a thing btw. We all genuinely want a good game. Let's work together and make it happen. Ignoring the players who know the game best is a great way to kill the game.

Fyi, i used to be a defender but i switched to offense long ago because bhg has made it abundantly clear that they don't care about defense or reasonable balance in the game.

So the Drone Command building has gone from coming weeks to coming months. It was supposed to launch at the end of summer which we are already past. It should have been part of the launch of Drone Age which was the most disappointing new age you have ever launched. I barely play the game now as it has not evolved and become so boring. I’m tired of waiting for this new building, I’m done with this game.

Oh this is fantastic. Just pure bliss. Magnificent . Even with a top 10 defensive museum on the game , with a museum of a 408 412 rating(meaning the sum of ADTHP, ADTDPS and DST) equals that, I still get smashed in 1.30 to 2 minutes. Rarely I’m able to squeeze in times of 2.15 or 2.30 even with premium buildings. This is just the icing on the top so I can finally quit your broken , unbalanced, full of unethical, gambling like sales that are borderline delinquent. As many players have already stated above , it’s nearly impossible not to defend( long gone are those days) but rather last longer than 1.40 . As there’s just simply no way for a defender to counter all specialized meta museums. If I put on a full anti helicopters museums let’s say ( invading helicopters damage by 51 percent , invading helicopters hp by 54 percent ), I still get demolished . Because there’s no way for me as a defender to counter meta museums such as bombers hp and damage by 100 percent in conjunction with enemy defenders spawning time by 100 percent or higher or helicopters damage by 175 percent all at once . I can only counter up to 2 units with war armour and war weapons , and even then offence simply prevails. If you remove the 85 percent cap and the last tiny microscopic chance a defender has of defending , then by all means have low weight offensives sponsor support your app and have them have 20 seconds competitions to see who can deploy troops faster on the map . You have been catering to them for quite a while now, so yeah I think it’s about time all defenders quit the game . There’s just not a single reason for us to keep on playing the game . As a defender, base crafter, someone who can fully customize and tweak drone age bases, and even incorporate 3 premium buildings into top lay outs , I pride myself in being able to work out the perfect placement of key defensive buildings and traps. It’s the portion of the game I enjoy tremendously as a defender, something all defenders take pride on , edit mode, customizing a base, tweaking it, testing it , predicting breaching points and spots where most offensives will attack or rally to. The process of having a current top lay out involves weeks and months of hard work, of having that base being attacked from all sides with all army combinations , of working out the perfect placement for every single trap, of having every single anti tank gun protected by two anti air defences , etc . It’s not an easy task by any means , and it’s something the big majority of players simply avoid . It’s easier to spend 20 minutes a day hitting friendly challenges and working out a top army composition and system . To be honest any moron with more than 5 minutes on the game can deploy heavies on one corner, 14 helicopters on a line , and 2 cards of healing helicopters behind attack helicopters. It’s brainless , boring and devoid of any planning , strategy, or skill. You butchered defence ages ago with recon , as it turns all buildings into paper buildings( you can have ADTHP 180 percent) and you still get smashed in 1.40) I believe 2 recons airplanes does stack up and further reduces all towers hp, as demonstrated by all current top attackers using 2 recon cards with meta museums of helicopters or bombers. You killed defence even further with paratroopers, as they literally walk over an entire base and not a single defending unit gets a chance to spawn.
90 percent of defence is rocket Arsenal, bunkers and the defenders spawning from the town Center and all those get smashed by paratroopers effortlessly. Now you want to make it so that ADTHP, ADTDPS and DST doesn’t even count anymore. That’s pretty much nullifying the 3 years I have spent building up my defensive museums , and the defensive museums of every defender on the game . By all means , have offensives have 20 seconds competitions to see who can drop troops faster on the map that’s where your disaster of an update it’s headed . And have them sponsor your joke of a game . I don’t know how does your data collecting or business model works , but i think it should be clear as water that it takes vastly more money to upgrade all buildings on the game , than it does to upgrade the mercenary camp, airstrip , factory and barracks units. You have successfully killed this app and taken away any single reason for a defender to keep on playing your game and supporting your abusive deluded company .
 
you example is terrible the attacker at 200 would have coalition taking up another 75 for that specific kind of. troop did. this the game doesn't survive

if my anti helicopter is 100 and the attacker is 138 and has Aztec coalition he is now still over 100 even with my taking 100 away so your idea is give him 600? dumb
