Food for walls is urgent! Like if you agree :)

Ok so Ironangel and Seraphine I mention you if so if how it works:

Please tell devs that food for walls is a must, to allow food to be used in walls after a certain level. So many similar games like this, added it, as in my opinion it will solve quite a lot of issues, for us the legit players:

1. Food in mid-later IA is useless, you ask any guy playing there, and they will all say, how really useless is food, compared to gold, or oil. Is really frustrating always being maxed of a resource, in my opinion eliminates half the fun of the game, makes the economy so boring, the hunting, upgrading farms, etc...
Making food useful, will be a motivation to hunt, to upgrade farms, loot in wars, and when you raid, you won't feel like you lost half the work of the food part... Like it is now, food feels totally useless, IT'S SO IMBALANCED, you need like 30 times more gold than food... Kills totally the economy imho.

2. Walls are impossible to get for a legit player, and if Global Age is coming soon, and there are gonna be more and more expensive walls, it's just really gonna be impossible, that we ever legit players achieve that. Allowing us to spend food as well on walls, will show you care about us, will annoy cheaters, they surely will cry now saying this is a bad idea, because they already have their level 13 walls with 0 effort, but for us legit player will be a holy blessing...

3. I understand than an issue may be that food loot may become then really poor, but then my sugestion is that it only starts to take effect in IA, when you really cannot use the food anymore, for levels like 3 million or 4 ones. So you will still need to have a loot saved, so it will still be looted for people needing it for other things. It's a dumb argument, would be like saying that no gold loot, because people spend it for walls... Won't happen. Maybe first days, but then situation will normalise.

4. Please, please, thing how sweet it'll be, to have all both resources matter the same, and balanced. To raid again caring and being careful about the two resources, and not half raid...

There's my argumentation, I'm willing to hear counter arguments, but honestly, unless cheaters with their level 13 walls, I don't see what problem can people see to making the two resources balanced and important... Economy is just over right now.

Great... more bases with max out walls for me to attack lol. I may have to drop medals if this were to ever happen. A few people mentioned previously of using an in-game market to exchange food for gold. I think this could be a good idea, and help balance eco. For example, trade 4 food for 1 gold or some other ratio, and vice versa. For some special events, the ratio can be decreased to boost the yield!

sorry disagree, mate. Though myself only have level9 walls for most, I do not prefer seeing too many high level walls in raiding.

I strongly disagree. Allowing walls to be purchased by food would result in everyone easily attaining max walls. In many respects walls can be considered the best defensive structure depending on how well the base is designed. If everyone had max walls it would greatly diminish the novelty of owning max walls.

Granted I used to share your opinion but after really focusing on upgrading walls myself, I've realized that allowing food for walls would really piss off the many dedicated players that've worked on leveling their walls with gold.

Instead, they should be much more stringent in banning cheaters with max walls regardless if they attack using cheats. Also in addition to reseting medals or giving temporary bans they should roll back the walls of cheaters to Iron Age wooden fences as punishment.

With regards to the uselessness of food in the later stages of IA, they should release some sort of food or bio-fuel processing plant that would slowly convert deposited food into oil.

lol, I was just going to suggest something similar that @ivan just suggested. Somethings got to be done with the food since command post is full, mills are full and in the events I cannot claim the food reward since Im full. Convert food into oil sounds like a great idea.

I do not know if you all agree that..... in real history, alcohol drink was invented when the production of starch food exceeded the requirement of filling everyone's stomach....
So there should be a way to produce alcohol drinks from food, and alcohol drinks can be used in many way, generating tax/gold, holding festival, promoting art and literature, and so on. Is it possible to introduce into this game more concept from Civ series? I mean, besides the current theme of only raiding or being raided....

I think that´s what they did to the artillery after the update, handed them lots of alcohol since they acting like drunkards and not bombards...

I strongly disagree. Too many players would max out their walls to quickly. I agree that food is simply wasted in later game, but I'd rather see clearing forests cost food instead of gold. You gotta keep those workers fed while they chop down the trees.

Forests with food make a lot of sense, never thought about it.

But will you agree with me, that the ratio gold/food is by far imbalanced?

Something has to be done with the food, to make it useful, and to diminish a bit the charge for gold... Why has the gold to be more important than the food? Don't farms and caravans produce the same?

I don't think it has sense.

And it won't make everyone having max walls... Lol. Walls are 6 millions level 13 guys. What I'm talking about is for example level 11, 4 million, to allow the use of food as well.

That will make things a bit easier for legit players, but still maxing walls will be a very very hard feat!

I'm a bit surprised you disagree so strongly with me, lol, maybe we play different games after all :)

Of course I agree about imbalance. I constantly have 7.5mil of food. I do multiplayer, all food looted is wasted, all leagues food bonus is wasted. I do war, all loot and reward food is also wasted, that 2.1mil in command post fills up after 3 wars.

Here's another idea. Make even levels of walls cost gold, odd levels cost food. Or the opposite. It will make it much more balanced and we won't be wasting so much food.

Disagree, there's too much maxed out walls already. Besides, you don't need them. Lvl10 walls are enough for now and very doable.

Food to oil sounds like an awesome idea tho

Something needs to be added to give IA players with overflowing food something to spend it on. Food to oil would be great.

I guess food for oil would be ok, but oil I don't have problems with, it won't solve the problem of the great amount of gold needed for everything...

Maybe a market where we could trade with other players all three resources??

Then the law of supply and demand will stablish the price of food or oil relative to gold... :S

Could be a funny adition.

Ok, let's get this topic over to ideas and feature requests. There are a few ideas in this thread that are worth pursuing.

What do you mean, the other subforum?

It will receive more atention there? I just started here because seems to be the most visited subforum.

But yes, seems interesting, maybe you disagree with my suggestion food for walls, but what seems clear is that something has to be done to make food useful too, so I think we could turn that into an open debate for that...
