Let me know what do you guys think about the importance of defending footman and horseman. ;)
What are the best building placement for those two?

Any interesting ideas on making a better defense are very welcome as well.

Garrisons, stables with the Acropolis make a sturdy defense. My defense is centered on spamming defense troops. Somewhere, probably burried, I made a thread titles The Acropolis defense, showing you what this sort of defense looks like. I will try and find it and bump it for you

Thanks for that thread. But I personally not a fan of your base at all.
2 huge buildings inside wall is a huge waste of space. There is no reason to leave the acrop in middle to be killed at last if all the surrounded garrisons are gone Castle IMO is way more important than that big junk in help defending.

My thoughts are Acrop still should be a tank for defense buildings, but put it in a heavy catapult fire position since ppl would kill it with pikemen.
Now its their choice, lost lots of footmen or leave it there to spawn faster.

The acrop is well defended because it is the most important part of the defense. It maximizes the stables and garrisons production. As you saw every one of my stables and garrisons are within the influence of my acrop and all are spread out in a relatively even arch. This base will spam defensive troops faster with the acrop lasting longer than any other base design without it.

Spamming troops does more than just do damage to enemy troops. They also delay attacking troops, preventing more damage from happening to buildings. Spamming troops, in my opinion is also the most effective way to defend your base for two reasons

1. Cavalry is very popular, particularly because of the DPs increase they have received. Cavalry goes after defensive buildings so the more defensive troops you can create to distract them from doing what they do allows your defensive buildings to do what THEY do.

2. The Romans unique unit gets a bonus against buildings but not against defensive troops. Why does this matter? Have you noticed how many Romans there are, especially
since the ability to change nations was introduced.
