Has anyone saved 210k oil for airstrip upgrade in GA (not talking about filling up using crowns, but actually toiling to collect that much oil) ?
If so, how difficult it was ? I've had no problem getting to 80k , but after that attackers take away 3-4k per attack, and am just not able to keep up replenishing the loss. The last time to get to 120k , I started with 70k,played whole day to get 40k, slept and lost 20k in overnight attacks, then got 30k next day one weekend.

Its crazy thing to do, but can be done for 50-60k oil in two days. Clearly not sustainable to reach 210k oil , as it would require atleast 8-9 days of continuous playing .
What are your thoughts on this ?

I was thinking of a combination of oil barrels purchased by diamonds and saved in reserve and strategically purchased peace treaty. I imagine most players who play this game for free are spending 15 days waiting for their oil refinery to finish both upgrades before even having the space to hold that much oil.

I Would like to know if there is a cap (maximum) on the amount of oil that could be looted?

Looting oil is a little easier in Global. I Just did the 58.5k for 15% heavy tank attack speed without breaking a sweat. That would've taken me days in Industrial. But I know how you feel. All those upgrades around 200k oil look daunting.

I had thought so because of the oil price going up after activating the second general, and the comment in the bugs section about it from the devs. Take a look at the 4.0 known bugs, 4th issue down. I'd post a link but for some reason my phone isn't allowing me to paste in this comment.

Theoretically the cap is same as the refinery capacity. Practically there is a glass ceiling above 80k-90k oil.Its just that losses become too frequent after this level. My alliance mates are suffering the same as well.

Was this from 0 to 58.5K, or did you start from some far off number say 70k and gained (70+58.5 = ) 128.5k ?

0-58.5k. So far in global it seems the availible oil is higher than when I was in Industrial. In industrial, I'd have 1k oil as an absolute minimum. In Global, it seems like I'll be able to set a minimum of 2500 and still not have to search much to find a nice base to raid.

Very interesting topic and I would be also interested in Jo-jo answer :)

As for the 200k oil I dont think its a matter of a week.As for me when Im lucky I can loot 30k oil per hour whenTB, that means e.g.90k of oil per day when playing 3 hours which is not that much. Of course its demanding (Im in IA) and requires at least 500 medals drop for this one day but it can be done. So I think that 3 days are doable, or I hope :D

I'm all the way down at the bottom. Usually I bounce between 200-1000

Without dropping medals which I m not willing to do it s hard to even get more than 30k per 2-3 hours play.
Running in a base just going for oil and take the loss is an option for low level players who don't care about medals.
Thus I still think the oil demand is ridiculous particularly for generals who all need oil from lvl 11 onwards which sums up to a quarter million per level!
Thought they would introduce another refinery building but guess what they stick to their boring course not to change anything so it's still one which is mainly well protected

Then dont complain if you want to stay high in medals :). You have to make a decision easy oil vs. high medals :D
Also do you think that people here who prefer the 1st option are low level? (I am 140 and saw 150 and 155 levels with 1000 medals range)
I assume you stay in high medals because of alliance am I right?:)

Sorry meant low medals not low level. There are many lvl 180+ players (although most of them are cheaters) in low medal range.
I purely went that high because of competition and primarily because of massive league bonuses which pay out so well over time.

competition makes sense. no way league bonus can compensate for difficulty of obtaining resources...I can 5 star bases with 300-600K rss without substantial loss of troops allowing streaks of raids that you could never match regardless of league bonus. My sense is that there is no way to get to dynasty level without heavy hacking or coining, in which case, what are you really competing over.. Who can shell out the most money? Totally not interesting...

Indeed brand I did spent some money but mainly for speed training during training blessing sessions. I don't shorten tactics or airplane training though. Also I don't buy trade goods to always have mercs at my disposal.
You are right if in middle medal ranges I could streak bases with substantial resources now, not losing planes all the time and no need for generals or tactics it would make me re think the whole stuff.
But at the moment I'm not willing to abandon my month long effort to get to dynasty. This buggy update already brought me from dynasty 1 back to 3 and this really hurt...

Wow, guess you got there by just grinding through high medal bases, must be so hard to get resources for upgrades and still keep your medals, hats off to you for being able to do this without dropping serious coinage...how did you keep 200K oil? Is it that no one raids up there because they are all focused on medals?

You know GoldDS, collecting oil in empire/dynasty league isnt all that difficult. I am at dynasty 3, and have a couple of my troops upgraded to GBA level. And I always look for those abandoned maxed cheater bases with tonnes of resources up for grab. One attack on such base gives me around 1 mil each rss and around 7k oil before the league bonus. And the only thing which needs to be replenished most of the times is the war tactics. So if you have a Tactics belssing on and use a little bit of crowns, you can earn around 40k oil everyday. And wont lose much each day as people in these leagues dont care about rss mostly, all they care about is medals.

There's more oil up in the higher leagues than in lower leagues what I have heard from an ally mate. He has a high and a low medal account.

I'm in Empire 2 and I'm sitting at over 130k oil and can't spend it.

I'm in Empire 3 currently, after months and months of refusing to medal. I can say that I struggle less now with rss than I ever did in silver leagues. The bases are more taxing on your army than in lower leagues, but the rewards are much better and the league bonuses are huge. Plus, if you spend any amount of time doing TC only runs you will get a ton of trade goods.
