Goodbye Dominations.

So today I've decided that I no longer wish to play Dominations. I'd like to start off by saying that I have always liked the idea of this game, but that concept has failed to be delivered. Some of the problems that made me angry the most are the performance problems. Frequent lag, lots of crashing, etcetera. That plus the insane grinding for rss makes it very difficult to progress. I've also lost the time to play lately, I've been super busy and just not wanted to load up the game. But unlike most people, I haven't completely given up on the game. Not yet anyway. I'll comeback if Dominations becomes a better game, overall.

The saddest part is that it's always the most productive forum members who gives up first.

Yea, recently I catched myself on a feeling that I am forcing myself to play lol ))) this medal maintaining and resource management is extremely frustrating. I switched from strong brits to boring france just to shorten my game time and keep progressing. So now my game time shortened so much that I may loot even less than with brits in total, сaz I am bored.

May be nation rebalance or switch will help you getting fresh feeling of a game. They definitelly over expanded building times leaving players with weekly gaps without any progress. Looting an hour for decorative wall is counter productive. High medals prize leads you to no opponents.

So they should talk about medal system and combats first of all, not these quests. This weekly feedback looks like ignorance of community voice, so naturally players leave.

Good luck, Bear, I hope you'll find reasons to come back.

Trouble with any nation except France you're only treading water unless you're prepared to put in many hours a day.

The entire Medal/League/Win/Lose system is a mess - between 1200 (presumably the 100 crowns Achievement level) and 2000-2200 (next Achievement and proper league bonuses kick in) is a complete no-mans-land - or as I've called it 'The Quit Zone', most players here are GP/EA/IA so getting tired of grinding out ever increasing upgrades and now plagued with 1 medal wins/29 medal losses.

Prices and upgrade times ramp up high as hell from Gunpowder on and the game offers us just two options - pay or grind like a no-lifer. It's the most subtle pay-to-win mechanic ever. Of course that this is still a lot more fair than offering uneven advantages to paying costumers, but I never saw a game with such a need to grinding on half-near-the-end-game (yes, we have still at least two new ages to come, so Gunpowder will be more like midgame when all ages are there), and I'm talking with the "authority" of a Diablo III player who was there to see the rise and fall of that unholy Auction House.

And on top of that, the lack of engaging competitive multiplayer. Right now Leagues are just cosmetic badges and the Alliances are just a source of extra defenders/attackers.

Eddie, Current medal system does not even let you have 1 combat and quitting for 30 mins. This way you won't progress higher than 2000 I suppose even if you play 24/7 each 30 mins. This is conceptually wrong.

But Even if you play 30 mins on TB and exit it may be an issue to get higher than 2400. I've got an attack and lost 39 medals... It's like 1,5 hr of play. And if you want to make a reserve for the next such attack and keep progress... You need to play 2-3 hours?. And it is with France. With other nations you probably should multiply these times by two. And you should reserve these times based on your PTs to avoid even more attacks. And sniping combat with 2-3 units, 1 tactics are boring like hell to click the same for 2 hours. Totally broken design.

For 99% of players there is only one option - grind or quit (2 options then) :)

I wouldn't use the word 'subtle', blatant or clumsy pay-to-win mechanic seems more appropriate.

Everything is too expensive in terms of crowns/real dollars. Subtle would be buying 1200 crowns for $10, then using them up 1 crown at a time, say troop speed up, 1 crown, 5 diamonds in the Storehouse, 1 crown, finish that mortar upgrade 10 hours early, 2 crowns i.e. everything is so cheap it's automatic and lo and behold a day or so later all 1200 crowns have gone.

1200 crowns don't even finish a crappy farm upgrade, so people hoard and covet the things, loathed to spend them.

Totally broken.

The more they 'balance' the game, the more 1-dimensional it becomes, only one winning strategy. They are lucky nobody has found a single can't-be-defeated' base design or it be really tedious.

Fun = progress, Funks.
Progress on building is removed by huge building times.
Progress on combat skill is destroyed by nerfs and imbalances.
Progress on medals destroyed by cheats, no opponents, broken medal system.

So the only fun left is to share our frustration, so it goes easier before things get improved lol )))

Upgrading walla fills in the gap between all that other stuff. I will enjoy my legit maxed out base. With my more refined subtle understanding of how to attack and defend. Because i was there for thousands of attacks. Ill have the best base design and the best attack strategies. See u guys in space age :)

Well c'mon then - share your unbeatable base design so we can all be unbeatable and the game will finally be so stagnant that the devs might actually try to do something to improve the flow/progress of the game.

Drastic times call for drastic measures!!

He has the same nick in the game. You can find him it usa elite alliance. His base is strong, no doubt, you may need at least 10 footmen to win it :)

The devs needs to buff the caravans and farms. The upgrades cost so much and so long for them, but only small increase. Can't collect much during peace treaty. If they buff farms and caravans, it'll help supplement for higher ages.

Maybe we should get oil resources from drilling polar bears. Next improvement idea to spend time on.

On the other hand, the nerfs on the game is probably the only way the devs get through the long waiting times. Presumably, they're testing the next age and going through the upgrades in real time.
