I wish I could stay in this age forever. In the past 2 weeks I didn't lost any resources, all the attacks on my base was on my TC that stands outside the walls. I know if I move to enlightenment age,the guys from industrial age will destroy me fast...so I don't see any point moving forward. I probably max out everything including walls before going to enlightenment age. But I wish I could stay in gunpowder age with all the upgrades available.

Ur gimping ur offense capabilties by staying in gunpowder. Uve been around for a while in this game. U should be indutrial by now working on ur industrial offense upgrades. Ur too focused on defense losses which are a small fraction of the resource gains u would have with a strong industrial offense fighting in empire league bonuses against maxed out bases with full gold storages.

Id rather have zero defense...get 5 stared lose 350k gold. But have industrial army that can farm 450k gold non stop many times an hour all day long

As a fellow Gunpowder Age player, I mostly agree and am having a similar experience myself. I haven't been attacked by anything other than a few raiders sniping my farms or medal droppers since I reached gunpowder age over a week ago. The only thing I can say about putting off reaching Enlightenment Age is you put yourself at a disadvantage because the training blessing exponentially increases the loot you are able to gain per hour. Also, there will only be more and more Industrial Age players the longer you put it off, possibly making it even harder for yourself.

People are too worried about being attacked. Embrace that u will be attacked and lose 3x a day. I like that im attacked. Its free crowns several times a day. U wont find an ea or ia player that regrets the move. The only people fretting about it are the ones who havent made the move. Like the teenager whos worried about how scary high school will be, or their drivers test, or first job. Fear of unknown. Then u do it and its fine

Same here I rarely get full attacks on me. But that just tells me this game is broken and players have given up using bigger armies tactics and trade goods because they are not easily to maintain unless you're just a 3x a day attacker. If you're attacking 3 or so times a day you're not advancing much at all.

That being said no way would I want to stay at GP age.. that is BORING!!!!

I do brew a big army once or twice a day. Once I lose those troops I do not have the tactics nor the trade goods to be able to defeat the bases that have the loot, so I snipe instead, I snipe a TC and raid the resources. Heck I can snipe TC deep inside walls in the right situation. This was very fruitful for awhile as I can average over 100k each with these attacks but that is proving harder now that all those inactive bases are becoming active and the easy loot is not as available.

However if you want to advance you need to be able to attack alot, and if so many players are just sniping TC's then that screams major problems with the offense and attacking systems, which we all know.

Rushing your TC might be the option... But it shouldn't be mandatory to remain competitive.. If that what it takes to progress more reliably then the game balance is definitely screwed up

Going to agree with DBuk here. Start thinking about upgrading to next age once all your offensive capabilities are maxed, and your defenses capabilities are at about 50%.

I have several guys in my alliance who are regretting going up to EA because they just wanted better armies to attack with. Once they go to sleep they get raided a lot and don't always get shields. Many times waking up to millions in losses. I suggest all my guys max if they have the patience...I don't need loot rewards of 400k each when I'm still upgrading GP upgrades...I have a limited amount of builders anyway and raiding gradually and getting 100k loot is more than enough at GP especially when builders are busy anyway.

I guess that the OP is not being lucky or is on a serene age, he must have a good farmer layout with upgraded arty towers and mortars, wich scares the hell of most pillagers, specially Medievallers.

I understand the OP's confort on GP Age, because the most outlandish things that will be thrown at him are gatlings and guerrillas (oh mah boi, I want some defensive gatlings units to laugh my azz off at medal goers on my turf). On EA he can be attacked by planes and zeppelins and all that modern stuff wich is more than a regular mild upgraded base at EA can normally deal.

Well, I made peace with the fact that some otherworldy EA army can crash the party at my GP base and mop the floor of my little Nobunaga, but well, the attacking/defending concept is more balanced than CoC, where depending only on medal level, a guy with EVERY units upgraded to max can chew the bones of a player with a LVL 4 town hall. I'm moving foward on this game, because if not, I will never put my hands on the the shiny guns of next age and at some point I will become a self-service for raiding armies. I'm staying on Gunpowder until there is no building and unit left to upgrade on my city.

Don't focus on defence. My base layout may lose a few resources but in the end I can loot more with raiders(may change to royal yeomanry attempts). Good production and hunting with blessings can easily overcome the minor losses, anyway.

There is an argument for not rushing to the next age. It's that you don't loose easy raid against lower age. For exemple I'm EA an my main income is from GP base I roll over. There is no need for me to go IA until I'm allostérique max because the life is easier as it is. Keeping GP in my scope, I can do more attacks per hour because I loose very few units each battle. Would I rush IA, I'd be matched up against EA and IA only and so far, i have not seen those guys having more loots than GP that would help compensate for decrease in attack per hour.

Yeah, rushing just to BE on the Age is a suicidal move and a blank check inside a "welcome to the neighborhood" basket full of food and gold (and maybe oil) to potential raiding armies.

After all, who you're going to stop when on Enlightment Age, using ballistas and catapults to defend yourself?

U dont defend urself ever. U will always be defeated. The people who hold back in ages to max out their defense are making a mistake. As soon as ur offense is maxed out(minus blacksmirh way too much stuff in there) u should be moving on. Except for players who dont want things to be as easy as possible for them

I'm low level Industrial Age...just got access to tanks this week, haven't got maxed walls or air defences. I just wanted to start attacking with tanks. I've been in the Enlightenment Age since March, so I was getting bored. If you don't advance, the game gets boring and you will probably quit. I haven't been attacked that much either since the last update...advance without fear and have fun!

I don't like long sessions at all. I like playing for 30 mins max, so GP was the worst experience for me when I had issues with collecting resources. Training blessing is a game changer, especially for France, but for everybody too, so I felt very comfortable in EA. Just to give you an idea... I've looted somewhere 85m gold till EA, now I have 250m being less than 2 months in EA and playing semi-casually. Only IA made things worse and this unfair advantage France has. :) I think I had double gold by now if I played France, so in two days I'll have to spend some weeks on making important IA attack upgrades and today/tomorrow I am storming GP bases just to say good bye to them ))) . I don't see any gamechanger in IA so far, but it will make things easier for sure. My goal now is to make 3-4m in 30 mins, so I can upgrade my walls in short sessions. If they confirm that france isn't bugged, i am going to switch.

Believe me you may think gunpowder age is great (and it was) but enlightenment age brings you the biggest offensive boost that you'll get so far. From the additional troops from the barracks and library to the training blessing you'll really see what they mean by enlightenment. If the attacking aspect of the game is what you enjoy it's worth getting an attack form an industrial age player now and then. So try the next age it really is worth it.

Training blessing and the army expander techs are the bread and butter of EA. And the factory units are a nice add-on.

I'm EA in gold II, and still have 4/5 attackers just looking for a quick'n easy two-star on my very-exposed tc. if that's what your layout is inviting, you'll still get it more often than not, regardless of your age.
