Have you tested it in fc? Deactivate your museum. Put 1 atg with several layers of walls and send 1 ht against it. See how many shots it takes to kill the ht. Then you'll know the range of hp your ht has and can see if it's where it's supposed to be

Yes right after every update it seems like something is off for a while. I wonder if they disable something until everyone upgrades.

I don't think it's university because I don't have it and my mk5s are dying way more easily than normal.
