Heavy Tanks on Defense

Hey guys!
I'm a Brit so I'm currently not using Heavy Tanks in my lineup.
I'm curious about the library tech that gives Heavy Tanks splash damage. It's an offensive upgrade, but I'm wondering if it will apply to my heavy tanks on defense as well? If not, nearly the entire heavy unit upgrade tree is useless for me. If so, it would be nice to see my tank (pray to god it doesn't get betrayed) wash away hordes of riflemen!

No, defend HT dont have splash. If you receive donated HT with splash, they can have it, but nearly everyone will use betrayal on your HT!

Thanks Quang t legend ! That will definitely save me a LOT of oil to make that upgrade.

Yeah they get betrayed so often I almost wish I didn't have it on defense! I know myself I prefer attacking bases with a bunker... Free HT makes for an easy 5-star! As long as I use a sab against the anti-tank guns nearby.

1 HT for 2 tactics? I tried the British, as low medal you can 4-5 star without any tactics many time!

all true, but I pass up alot of bases with bunkers once I've spent out my betrayals..

You know what's funny? Even if you don't have betrayals you should still go for those bases. Once a HT spawns, rally your troops away from it. The HT will naturally follow, in it's own, inimitable, lumbering fashion.
When you have the rally option available again, rally away from it again. Keep doing this 'til the HT is all that's left (if you're able) then watch as, at the end of the battle, your army goes to finish it off - en masse!!! I've only managed to do this once but it was hilarious!!!

You don't actually have to rally away from the HT more than once. Once it is away from any towers or fort, you can easily take them out with planes.

I was surprised at how easily my HTs get taken out by my attacker that 1st time.
