Hi all

Im playing with germans, and I like vandals, but when I started to play with cavalry in Classic Age, I liked them more than infantry, and I always use cataphracts in my attacks when I need medals. I think cavalry is the best and most important unit in the battlefield, and I dont need so many vandals to win (not now in Medieval, cause Ive ballistas), and I want to change my nation into France, cause has the best cavalry of the game, but I want to get info about it, because devs can put a new nation, and, I think they will put a cavalry nation, like Poland with Winged Hussars, or Russia with Cossaks, and I dont want to waste my crowns. Can someone tell me some advices about France and leaving Germany? and about new (and soon) future nations? thanks in advance!

I see many people choosing France because they can train troops faster than any other nation.

Currently, the only 2 nations with unique cavalry are Greeks and French. Greeks have 15% more hitpoints, 20% more dps. French cavalry have 20% more hitpoints and 15% more dps.

I used to play Greeks and switched to French 3 weeks ago. Cavalry wise, it's pretty much the same. But the French faster training times (especially combined with Training Blessing when you reach Enlightenment) is far superior than the cheap refunds and quick finish of the Greeks in later ages (until there is a rebalance for the Greeks).

I'm not aware of any future nation announcements and there is no guarantee these nations will have better cavalry. If you are in for the long term, France is the way to go if you like cavalry, which will later become tanks. Once you reach EA, you'll be glad you have French if you are an active player.

It may take a while before new nation will be added. But before that there will be rebalance coming soon and germans, brits and greeks will recieve an upgrade. I'd advise to wait and see. France is good for loot at higher ages, but heavy cavalry isn't good at all. it is a bit better than soldiers tho. You won't be able to benefit France before EA and training blessing, before EA it is average nation, probably worse than Germans.
I hope this helps

If you really want to change nation at Classical Age, consider Greeks for their Companion. as Redgaar pointed out, France before EA is just average. compare to that, quick finishing, upgrade costs refund and Companion of Greeks are better. but if you really want to move up the ladder, also consider British.

French is not good until Enlightenment Age, won't help you much. Soon you'll face opponents with 2, 3 and 4 ballistas which will murder all your cavalry fast and easy.
I suggest you stay German or switch British. If you want French so bad you can alway save more crowns and switch to France as well when you reach Enlightenement age and unlock the training blessing.

i just went through the same process of switching (from Roman) and i had the field narrowed down to either French or British, as they seem to be 2 of the most powerful nations at the top levels of the game right now. it honestly comes down to your personal playing style and preference.

if you really like the HC, then France will most likely be the right nation for you. overall I'll agree HC are honestly pretty worthless as you progress in the game and go up against better defenses, but the French training bonus when paired with the training blessing is unbelievable strong, and guaranteed to get you lots of loot.

For me, playing the French with training blessing is more about having a life outside of this game. I get to advance at the same speed as before except I only play 1 or 2 hours a day (already a lot for non-geek standards :)) instead of double or triple that time to get the same amount of loot and medals.

It is fair exchange on time, but not fair exchange on fun with french. I really avoid playing the game recently. It puts too much limitations on breaking peace treaty, long upgrade times and those boring sniping attacks.
