Help with Museum strategy

So, for years now I've been crafting and keeping artifacts only if 4 or more of the attributes start above 1%. Then, if needed I'd roll for the 5th one to get it at a higher starting value. But now, I'm thinking that might be a bad strategy. Rarely do I get good artifacts that affect the troops I use along with meeting my attribute requirements.

Now I'm thinking I should really just look at 2 or 3 attributes and max those out. Then I can swap in and out artifacts that compliment my current troop setup.

What are your thoughts on this and what strategies do you all use when crafting artifacts?

I appreciate everyone's input!

Lets say i play with HTs and transports in WW and I wanna build my museum from scratch.

The process is as follows:
- Wait for a WW museum event with better percentages and once that starts
- craft like mad and raise by +1 all 3 star artifacts. If you are low on fragments, raise by 1 2 star artifacts as well
- whenever you find artifacts that have 2 lines that you like (i.e. Paratrooper damage + HT damage) KEEP
- continue crafting.... when you find 3 lines that have either paratrooper and/or HT lines then KEEP and DISCARD the previously kept artifacts
- continue crafting.... when you find 4 lines that have double lines of paratrooper and HT then KEEP and DISCARD the previously kept artifacts.
- continue crafting.... when you find 5 lines that have double lines of paratrooper and HT and something else equally useful (like general hitpoints) then go play LOTTO cause you 've been VERY lucky!
- STOP crafting! :)

Now, if you have several 3 liners and you want to decide what to keep then start adding their percentages and see what you have at the end.
Take your decision based on the higher percentage (obviously!).

The starting percentage is overrated. Why start with 6% of something you'll never use versus 1% of something you do use? Or let's talk about All Enemy Defensive Towers... this covers all of the things that shoot (mortar, tower, anti-aircraft, redoubt, atg, ..., everything that shoots). What's better, 1% of everything or 6% of one thing? Easily the 1%. Now say the line is max upgraded, so 10% versus 15%... even better!

To summarize: ignore starting percentage until you reach the point of fine-tuning your museum. Until then, you want at least 3 starting lines of awesome to roll the 4th, or ideally 4 good lines and roll the 5th. Basically, what Oddin said.

And what do you do when almost everything is maxed? You keep searching for better artefacts or just keep what you have?

To answer your question - this:
just look at 2 or 3 attributes and max those out. Then I can swap in and out artifacts that compliment my current troop setup.
It helps to have a maxed Uni - reduces unnecessary swapping

At some point hopefully you'll have attributes that suit you and you're happy with - then you can stop searching and just enjoy the game. :)

depends on the player. At my alliance, we never stop crafting. Every WW museum event is a call to arms. We all give our best to find that artifact with 5 lines and good percentages. And that's one of the things that helped us all those months to become even better in WW.

In addition, it's when you work on a different set. Say, someone using HT/Fighters decides to build a Mortar/Cannon/Paratrooper museum, or an Attack Helicopter museum, or a crazy bomber museum, or ..., today many metas exist and it's boring to do the same attack strategy for years. On the bright side, the War Equipment doesn't really have to change unless someone is truly dedicated to optimizing every tiny bit.

Why craft anything to be honest. You cant tell if you actually get the % increase
You will never get anything that you can actually use all 5 lines to any benefit. The game is sooooo defensive that +11 HT damage is actually pointless when it just plods back and forth thru a bastion to a building that is nowhere near.

Unless you spend spend spend BIG MONEY its just a plod and should be renamed ‘defendanation’ because only those with endless cash will win.

What? The game is museum-centric. +11% something is like 1 or 2 standard upgrades via the Armory and that's a single line! Also museum is sort of free to play, aside from the legendaries but even then one can get decent free ones via patience. Once someone reaches Space Age one can grind for, essentially, forever... this means unlimited blueprints. Sorry but you do not understand the museum.

Since I craft only during the Lucky events, I'm trying to burn down many thousands of fragments in a week. So it's very fast craft & sell until my eye catches a lot of blue & green lines on an artifact, then I pause to read it completely. If at least 3 lines are bonuses I would use I save it as a "candidate" keeper to compare with my existing collection later. If it does beat out something I already have, then rerolling one of the bad lines gives me 4-5 lines of solid useful bonuses.

When almost everything is maxed, you keep doing this for the diminishing chance of getting an artifact that's just a bit better than one you have, or you start collecting artifacts for troop types you've never used much, just to keep some variety in the game.

Almost everything Zeltum just said is wrong. 3 or 4 good lines on an artifact is perfectly acceptable. +11 HT damage is much better than +1 since for much of the battle your HTs will be firing at stuff rather than crawling through bastion rubble, and the more damage they do on those shots, the more time they have to spare for bastion rubble. If you're determined to be in the top 10 war alliances, sure you need to spend big money. For the rest of us, which is most players, having higher and more relevant numbers in your museum than the other guy makes a significant difference, and you don't need money for that, just time and patience.

For museum artifacts, does negative % for “all enemy defensive towers damage” and negative % for “enemy towers damage” combine in determining if you have reached the -85% limit for buffing
