Here is what I love about the force quit fix

My very first attack after upgrading I crashed, I got some network error message, never got it on a crash before. I crash maybe 1-2x a week now (compared to 2-4x a day before the engine upgrade). My first thought was "they fixed force quit and then re-introduced common crashes lol". Couldnt believe my luck.

Then I logged back into the game. My army was gone, but I noticed I kept the resources I lost. Then I noticed my medals were up instead of down. I looked in my attack logs, it counted the 4 stars I had already gotten in the attack before the crash, I got medal credit as if the battle had stopped at that very point, instead of the game turning a win into a loss. Im guessing my army would have remained had I gotten the last few towers, too.

I dont like the fact I crashed on my first battle, but hopefully that works itself out. However, I think this is an awesome fix for force quit. If you crash, you at least get credit for what you'd done so far. Well done Nexon.

the next step is to play out the rest of the battle (like clash does) if you crash

Thank goodness the devs didn't listen to the majority of the high medal forum players and instead actually waited until they had an acceptable solution (one which doesn't punish a different group of players).

So ... if we crash before earning stars, it counts as a loss?

That what it sounds like. I guy in my alliance said it cost him 39medals he was only ten seconds into the game. People need to stop complaining and play the game the way the devs created it. Otherwise you will find yourself spending more money. Do we think they are going to Develop the game in our favor or theirs. They have to find a way to make money

I was afraid of this. But I suppose if we earn more medals from a defence, it may have to do.

Medals. It's easy to replace the lost loot, not so easy to replace the medals. But we've been all been victims of the exploit, so maybe the fix will benefit us in the end in spite of the lost medals from crashed attacks.

Crashes are down significantly. Even if I crash 1x per day, then I will still come out way ahead because I was hit with force quit at least 2-4x a day. And assuming that crashes impact people somewhat equally, you will be a beneficiary of a random person crashing every once in a while as well. But, at least now defensive setup actually matters and anyone losing a battle cant just swipe it away.

I dont mean to sound condescending, but I cannot imagine why someone who can effectively attack and who has taken time to build a nice base wouldnt be thrilled with this. Im 1-1 on defenses right now :)

improvement is awesome, I look forward to how many successful defences I can get. But my iPad is ancient too and crashes a small but significant portion of my attacks.

I hear ya. I still get crashes too. Though I would say my force shut attacks to crashes ratio is something like 10 or 15:1 lol. Before every war attack, and a lot of times before I do my regular multiplayer attacks, I force shut every app open, as well as dominations, and restart it. Its helped a ton. In fact it almost eliminates crashes for me, I do still occasionally crash when I forget to do this. But nothing like a month or two ago pre-engine update.

If I restart the app, after every attack, I crash infrequently as well. But with the previous update, I crashed about 1/8 without needing to restart app. I was satisfied with that as its disruptive to continually restart between attacks. But now, that would cost me a lot of medals, and am unsure of how stable this new update is.

I'm glad they fix the force quit exploit. Finally, a well designed base means something on defense. I just got 45 medals from 2 force quit attacks. I still lose the resources but at least I got something to compensate for that. Plus, there is now replay and an attack notification. Awesome job Nexon.

Yes 2850 medals here so mostly all 1/39. I would guess those higher in medals would be the happiest about this.

This is a great compromise between the two opinions on this issue. I think they nailed it with this (until they have a true "start where you left off" solution).

I want everyone to track their attack log now and tell me if they don't see more successful defenses. I'd bet alot of money that many of you are going to gain more medals on defense now.

I just hope that forum members do not start a name and shame listing of players they suspect of force closing. Game crashes still occur as stated by others. Do we really want to make any false or misleading accusations. ..... I hope not.

Power of positive thinking. Rejoice in the good things that have come out of the update. Though I am looking forward to the war display issue, my guys don't know whether to do their 2nd attacks.

Yes, its a huge pain, I just do the restart thing before war attacks. This update seems stable, except for my very first attack which I crashed on (but was already on 4th star). I think what we will have to worry about is how it will behave once everyone has more buildings in GBA....previously for me it didnt start crashing until bases were more "graphically demanding" with many buildings in IA. I guess it remains to be seen. Maybe a good excuse to upgrade devices, too!
