How can someone 20+ levels higher than me get that many medals from me on a 4 star attack? This game is a broken mess. It's not even worth playing, so I won't. Not to mention the amount of stuff that I report through the in game report feature that never gets a response. Pathetic customer service and experience.

20+ level higher simply means the player is very hard-working in upgrading his/her base because you only gain XP from upgrading/researching stuffs in this game.

You lose that many medals to that player because you have MORE medals than him/her. You get more medals when winning someone with more medals than you and you lose more medals to people having lesser medals than you.

This game is laggy

I think this question (along with the other question about getting attacked by player from a higher age) should be listed under a stickied FAQ as it pops up quite often.

he dropped down in medals to bully people. happens all the time in this game.
The not how it works though. I actually had nearly 1500 medals before that, you can even see in that photo that I was attacked by the number 1 ranked player in the game as well and he didn't get that many medals, just like when I attack players with around 2k medals, it never offers me more than 8 medals. So how does he get 14 on a 4 star attack?

Same. I know your pain. The only difference, is that the high level players can attack you no matter what league they are in. If you are in bronze three, they can get you from silver 1!

If it's a separation by 1 league it doesn't matter what lvl the player is. Lvl really has nothing to do with this game. It's just how much more time/money they spent on the game. As for it not being fair...."all's fair in love and war"

There's nothing fair about someone taking 14 medals on a 4 star attack when the other person is unable to get even half of that on an attack on any player, even the number 1 player in the world.

If you have 1500 medals, anyone including higher level people can drop to 200 medals and take 31 (or more) medals from you (5 star). This is how the game is designed. It gets more and more difficult to get medals when you are at the top of the leaderboard. You only win 1 or 2 medals from people but when you lose, you lose 20-30.

Why is it designed to be like this? Because you need to have lots of $$$ to be at the top.

Matching is based on Medals rather than levels or age, basically a 32 k-factor ELO system. In other words, he's got a really low medal count for how far along he is in progression.

Medals come and go, upgrades are forever. ((or at least they will be once the village swap bug is fixed!)) If I go without attacking anyone for a week or so my medal count goes 600 to 625. It'll dip below that for a day or so and then climb back up of it's own accord. I call that my "natural" level. When I feel like I want some more reputation mojo I'll attack for a bit and bring it up for awhile. but really that just for diversion. My real goal is raise the natural level as much as possible (was mid 500s not so long ago), and that happens through upgrades and research. Medals and resource levels are too ephemeral to spend much attention on keeping. ....just my 2c. :)
