I can't be the only one that finds this unreasonable (forest clearing)

I was doing some catch up on my forest clearing since til this point it was an after thought. However, it finally caught up to me and my base layouts effectiveness has lowered due to how compact my base is, and overall ive ran out of space to attempt to do better ones. So here i was halting some upgrades since i reckoned this would help me if i could improve layouts. I woke up today with my workers doing overtime with 4 forest in the clearing and i had the brilliant idea to google them to see how long it would take me to finish catching up to at least enlightenment (yeah i know i should have cleared them sooner)

I was naive and thought that enlightenment would cap at 10d (i thought this was a stretch for something all other games either give you right away or give it to you over time) would be somewhat within the realms of acceptable. Nevertheless, i googled the times today and after the no.40 my jaw ****** dropped after i saw the timer on the forest clearing. I always thought that just the fact that we have to invest time and resources into gaining the playing space was kinda trollish and a way to slowly chip players psyche that can handle the wait to make them buy crowns but after the no.41 this stuff is bat **** insane how can this be reasonable by any stretch?! and that was just for enlightenment that capped in 17d, but then i scrolled further down and saw all clearing in IA were 21d!!!!!!! thats 3 and a half ****** months just clearing forest!!! HOW IS THIS REASONABLE?! i have regrets of having googled that now.

The point is this is exaggerated. this is ludicrous. its 3 and a half months in IA. This comes even more of a stretch when most games either outright gives you the space or gives it over time. I cant see no other for this inflated wait times other than make people rush them. Its 3 workers each with high prices and ludicrous wait times. If they are so set and making us work for it i think it would be better to allow us to chop them in stacks of 5 with a higher citizen count one a single cost and time not individually.

I agree that it's pretty excessive, although I also agree that management is an important aspect of the game. Therefore I haven't bothered with the longest forest clearings and probably never will as I'd rather invest that worker time into defensive upgrades.

I hadn't actually realised there were that many 21 day clearings tbh.

my struggle with this is that the mechanic can be there but to adjust time to improve player quality of life. 21d or each individual forest es excessive thats 2 upgrades of any given defense in that frame. Further thats not mentioning the EA ones that suddenly spike all the way to 17d i just dont think that much time is practical given the amount of forests and that they take 3 workers.

You ain't wrong, it's crazy. At the same time, you don't need the last row of trees to be cleared to be able to work with an atomic base layout. I wait on discounts for them, cause honestly, waiting more three weeks to be able to use my workers again is painful.

Just have a look at your workers and you'll see why. They're all in 17th century costume, which means all they have to clear your forests with are scythes and longsaws requiring two people.
THAT's why they take so long!
But it's something that can be chipped away rather than as a priority.

Its funny how they take more time to clear forests as technology develops. It only took about 15 minutes when I was clearing out forests in stone age. Must be all the angry environmentalists distracting my workers and sabotaging my manifest destiny

Just a friendly advice,
Never clear out the last patch of forest!!
It is better to keep all the damn annoying animals in that single safari zone.

Turkeys in the tundra? Bears in the brush? Deers in the.......dopeymobile? (that's the vehicle that stupid creatures use to cruise around and get white castle burgers)

I understand that things need to take longer, but this is the definition of insanity. As my technology progresses, I have to deal with the longest wait times in the game on,,,removing a bunch of forest?

This game is about playing time, nothing else. So what if you get your 3 workers back within 21 days or 2 days? You'll still employ them elsewhere. It will still take you years until you have nothing more to upgrade, and by then they would have added a new age, moving the chains. This was the reason for the introduction of the University, to give max upgraded Globals (at the time) something to play for. How does it matter whether workers are clearing forests, or upgrading a mortar? You have to do everything eventually.

Poor Nexon, they move Moon Age forests to Industrial Age, then they get "wtf" instead of thanks!

Better that they left the moon forests for the moon age, right? This way, in space no-one can hear you scream about upgrade times!! (And sandbagging, and AI, and workers for the Uni, and tactics, etc)

i wish we could 'move' forests around ... i knew less about what i wanted when i started, and now i would have them arranged differently.
